(Adventure) The Haunted Halls of Stonepike

Aranel looked around, then listened, then walked over to Thurgan. "How badly hurt do you think you are?" she asked softly, offering an arm or shoulder, whichever was needed.

"Well, I never been crushed by an owl bear before, or anythin' else fer that matter. Me ribs kinda hurt when I breathe in. Prolly not sometin that'll be all better in the mornin," Thurgan said honestly. He had never been seriously injured in the journey thus far and thought of immortality went out with his breath when he was being crushed by the owlbear.

"I had a Wand o' Curin' before, but I lent it ta one of the others in me prior group cause they could use it better. Don't remember if I got it back or not - I'll have'ta check me pack," Thurgan said. It was easy to see he was laboring to take deep breaths to speak.

OOC: Uriel, we left the Wand of CLW with 25 charges (20 remaining) hanging at the inn. Did I get it back or was it kept by someone else in the group. I don't want to be duplicating wands - though I did purchase that one myself.

The halfling approached Thurgan, frowning at the dwarf's deep wounds.

"Thou art hurt, Thurgan. Let me provide some assistance to thee"

Sir Ishmael took out the wand of healing he had and focused inwardly, drawing upon its store of curing energy.

[OOC: using two charges. 1d8+1 HP each. If the GM rolls badly, I can spend 1 more charge.]

"Art thou better now? Or do you need more healing?"

OoC:That was your wand.Assume that you have it here. I will sort it out with whoever may have picked it up, although i don't recall that happening anywhere.

AMG, if you want to use your Cure spells, so as to preserve the Wand, let me know.

OOC: Velbrik has the wand. Sorry. I thought it was bought with group funds?

OOC: No worries! :) I had bought it outright - or at least I removed 375gp from my character. I was allowing the whole group to use it during the adventure.

"Thank ye, Sir Ishmael, you' re kind," Thurgan said as he felt the warmth of the healing magic pass over himself. "That should be okay . . . agin, my thanks. Is everyone else 'kay?"

"That's one fine wolf ya got there. I'm thinkin' some extra foods comin' offa my plate fer the wolf as thanks," Thurgan commented, looking at the handsome wolf.

"Glad to be of service" smiled the Halfling. Since he was no longer needed for the moment, he placed the wand back in his pack (he would later tuck it in his belt), wrapped his winter blanket about him and sat upright on his bedroll.

T'would be a while before he slept for t'was not just the night's combat that kept him from but the disturbing dreams that filled his head ere the battle had begun.

Aranel nodded, she was fine...so far. With a murmur of 'Sleepwell I'll be back later' she started to slip off into the surrounding area, wanting to scout around for anything else. No more 'sleep' needed for her and nothing much else to do but scout around...

((If it's needed I'l use hide/MS and the occasional spot/listen...otherwise she's just wandering around the small area exploring it while waiting for the others to be done sleeping))

OoC:Take another Wand, we can sort it out later with funds etc...
Consider a Wand of Cure Light Wounds with 25 Charges as being present.
2 Charges (23 now in the wand) heal 14 HP.

Urgan exclaims [COLOR=yellow' By Chennet's Fiery Forge, Sturm, tha' was a Legendary blow! Gods, them thing's are massive beasts!. Well, we'd better hurry an get something good from 'em 'afore they goes bad.I dare say breakfast'll be a tad better'n Sausgaes and bread.'[/COLOR]

The Dwarf whistles as he (and his brother) begin dressing one of the Owlbears, taking meat. ALgram then moves over to the Owlbear killed by Sturm and begins skinning the beast, showing a deft hand and considerable skill.

When breakfast time rolls around a few hours later, the air is filled with a delightful mix of steak and te smell of sizzling bird. The owlbear's meat is a mix of heavier red meat and bird, with the two arms lookinglike huge oversized chicken's wings. Along with some potatoes and onions dug up from the rick hills surrounding, the monsters make an interesting meal.

Rurik wakes up to the smell of food, feeling refreshed and happy that he got a blow in during the night's combat.

"Yer foun' pertaters an' onions besides? Chennet's fiery breath, I may 'ave ter marry inter yer clan, Algram Jasperfist! So what's an owlbear taste like? Ain't never et one, afore."
