[Adventure] The Jade Ring (DM: Dimsdale)

It seems that they wouldn't need the thug to speak after all. He mouths to Haaku 'Put him to sleep'. Leather then takes a peek through the crack in the door while he waits for the others below to join them.

Haaku changes his grip slightly, cutting off the circulation through the guard's neck. Within moments the lack of oxygen headed to the brain leaves the man unconscious, and Haaku quickly ties him up and gags him. He draws his blade then, and peers down into the sewers to wave them up, holding a finger over his covered lips to indicate that they should be quiet.

The others were getting too far ahead for Torqua's liking. What if they got themselves into trouble. No doubt they would be doomed without her help. Or worse, what if they found some giant treasure chest without her? Oh, how simply unthinkable.

With all the grace a woman of her size can muster, she makes her way forward and joins the others.

OOC: We haven't gone far, just up a ladder into a room.

As the others make their way up the ladder and into the room the notice that Haaku has subdued the remaining thug and that Leather has made his way to the door to take a quick look.

You see a strange sight indeed. In the center of the room is a man dressed in robes recites from memory a ritual. Six others dressed in robes surround the one speaking are in a prone position chanting the same verse over and over again in monotone voices. In the middle of the room is a person lying on a stone slab dressed in only a loincloth. You notice a scare on his left cheek and instantly recognize him as Mr. Blue. As the ritual continues you notice a strange spherical mist appear five feet above the body of Mr. Blue. Mr. Blue's eyes are closed, however, mist of the same color emits from his body and moves upward towards the sphere. You get the sense that Mr. Blue's life and vitality are being sucked out of his body. As you scan the rest of the room you notice a pair of thugs guarding two separate doors which are connected to the room

"They are sucking out his soul. Mr Blue is going to cark it if we don't move now" Leather pushes open the door and ...

"All right girls, file in, file in. It sounds like the boys have found some trouble up ahead and will need our help."

Fhangrim parks the wagon and lets his owlbears out of the cage and follows the group. When he sees the ladder, he calls ahead.

"Ahem. A little help my good fellows?"

OOC: Bears are decent climbers, but ladders aren't there thing, so I'm assuming they are going to need a boost up.

Haaku peers down and puts a finger to his lips, and then throws down a rope with a loop tied at the end. He lays his cloak over the edge of the grate so that the rope doesn't fray as it takes the bears' weight.

OOC: @Son of Meepo I thought they were circus bears! Leather would not have acted until all of the party were present. He assists Haaku in hauling them up first before barging in on the ritual.

GM: @Son of Meepo Getting the beautiful bears up the ladder will require a stealth roll. I'll give you a +2 because they are good dancers Map coming this weekend. The stealth roll will determine whether or not those performing the ritual will be alerted.
