I'll keep the story going as everyone takes care of the leveling up paper work
The party continues northward. The farther you move, the land changes from flat grass land to to hills with thick forrest. Night falls and you set up camp. During the night watch, the party hears the standard night life of the forrest...birds, insects, and an occasional howl from a wolf. During Skalisss's watch, he saw a bear wonder dangerously close to the came site, but then it retreated as the dragonborn gave it an intimidating toothy smile. The next morning you break came early as a new sense of urgency creeps over you about gettin Lerrick to Brother Buchta on time. The party continues northward and finds the bend in the road that brother Navio mentioned. Sure enough, there is a path that separates from the main road northward. Your party takes it. The vegetation is thicker here but the path becomes wider the farther you go.
[sblock=nature check=15]
You notice many broken branches and felled trees (some of them at least a half a foot in diameter, snapped like a twig) and footprints from a giant size creature or creatures
[sblock=nature check 20]
You recognize that these footprints are not made from an animal.

ooc: I've decided that the night campsite is the perfect time to make it an extended rest for everyone. (I don't know how you seasoned DM's do it...keeping track of everything. wow)

Halleck softly hums his trogdor tune as the party marches along.
"What a curious bird call," Halleck said. He tried to imitate the sound, but it seemed his vocal powers were limited to the kingdom of man.
"These we made by humanoids, at least double our size. Ogres, giants, trolls. Take your pick. We should proceed with all speed, but with advance scout."
