[Adventure]: The Mark of Trogdor (DM: Dimsdale, Judge ??)

Quan keeps his bow out and at the ready while they move on. He doesn't really enjoy the bard's song as it distracts from his observation of the natural noises of the forest. He silently points out the felled and broken trees, obviously something large would have had to caused the damage.

"Ask and ye shall receive, m'lady. I'll scout ahead," Quan offers. And with that he moves forward ahead of the group, looking for tracks and signs of danger.

You both come to the conclusion that the footprints are those of an ogre.

You recognize that there are tracks of more than one and that one of the tracks is much larger than the others. How many there are is unknown. You know (based on your nature roll) that there are at least 3 who have been this way, which includes the tracks of the larger one.

Vimak can only nod at the things the other said. He is maybe not a trained tracker, but he recognizes giant tracks if he sees them.

OOC: Nementah is updated

"Rocco, Skaliss, please don't rush out too far out. You too, Raijin, I want to be able to reach you without having to move from Lerrick.

Also, I have an idea. My current aspect allows me to move when prey moves. If I carry Lerrick like a backpack, I can carry her away if someone tries to close. My armor can do it once per day also, for the duration of the fight."


OOC: can the child sit piggy back and shift and move as Nementah moves?
 

"I'm going where the fight takes me, lass, you should know that by now. I will try, but I won't hold it as some border I may not pass."

OOC: I think the only thing I have to do to the stats is increase Nementah and Rocco HP to reflect their leveled HP. I'll do that later today.

As you scout ahead you see that the path turns to the right and looks like it opens up a into a clearing. You can hear noises around the corner, but at a distance...growling with an occasional yelp from multiple sources. You can't see anything from where you are standing. You'llhave to go foward to the bend in the path in order to get a better look. What do you do?

Like a good scout, Quan circles back and lets the group know that he identified ogres (by their tracks), one of them being much larger than the others. He also found the clearing ahead and although he couldn't see into it from where he was, he heard growling and yelps, so either dogs or gnolls.

[sblock=dimsdale] Is the clearing the only direction we can go to get to the meeting with Brother Butcha? If yes, Quan will scout ahead again to the bend in the path. Let me know if I need stealth or perception roll again [/sblock]

Yes, the clearing is the only direction. This is what you see when you peek around the corner. You stealth is high enough to keep you covered. There is a large lower body of a decaying, rotting beast on the ground. Apparently, the upper body is missing. From the looks of it, it looks like it was torn off. Surrounding the dead animal is a small group of wolves gorging themselves on this unexpected treat. What do you do? You see that the path moves ahead north.
