[Adventure]: The Mark of Trogdor (DM: Dimsdale, Judge ??)

OOC: It would be a darn good minion killer. In theory you could hit 9 enemies. I imagine it's rated so highly because it is a burst 3 that targets will. Also, I'm not very familiar with your class, but would you be able to mark all the enemies you damaged with this attack?

The party moves away from the wolves. The sounds of the feast fade away. The trail continues north and begins to widen. Soon you see the opening to a large cave. The opening is at least 30 feet wide. Smoke bellows out of the top of the cave entrance. As you get closer to entrance the smell becomes increasingly bad.

[sblock=perception check 15]
Outside the cave entrance there are signs of a recent battle. Scattered about are pieces of equipment: a torn backpack, a ripped pieces of leather, a broken metal breastplate, and shattered staff, among other items, nothing of value. Dried blood stains are everywhere. Flies swarm around them.

[sblock=perception check 20]
You spot footprints going to and from the cave enterence. You can tell from blood trails that bodies where dragged into the cave.

[sblock=perception check 25]
You notice behind you, off in the distance, two wolves following you.

wiki updated. Not finished with links to XP or anything, but items, powers and stats are correct. Why is Come and Get IT gold on all forums?! It does fairly little damage (no str), needs to hit to pull in and can pull onl yif there is room for that (which is hard to do with large opponents)

OOC: It used to be a ton better, as it pulled everyone in as an effect. Then you would make a close burst 1 attack that did 1[W]+Str. I suspect that the gold rating is for the old version (I didn't even know it had been updated until you pointed this out). Even now that it doesn't automatically pull people, it still is a decent battlefield control power.

Skalisss tries to observe near the cave entrance.

"There wasss a battle here recently, note the debrisss near the cave" he tells the others.

"Someone was dragged inside after the fight. Dead or alive I cannot tell from here. Lerrick, stay close to Nementah. Skaliss, stay close, Quan you protect them from close by, alright? Let's see if this is priests cave."

Perception (1d20+11=26)

[MENTION=85539]Tenchuu[/MENTION], I couldn't pull more then three from the front. And fighter marks on attack not needing a hit. So burst one attack marks everyone in the burst.

Perception (1d20+12=32)

"There were bodies dragged into the caves. And, we can sense pair of wolves behind us, following. We...I guess this is where ogres make camp. Lerrick you should hide high in the tree. That way ogres won't see you or attack you immediately and wolves cannot get to you."

OOC: Wow, I'll be totally useless this combat when rolls are this high outside of it :)

Good idea Nementah Lerrick replies to Nementah. I'll climb up here (pointing to a nearby tree). Lerrick moves up the tree with ease. I'm okay now...I think.

The fighter and paladin lead the heroes into the cave. As you enter the smell becomes unbearable. Quan again takes the lead, moving forward between rubble and piles of ogre waist. Smoke streams along the ceiling of the cave, make its way to the entrance and then up into the air. The source of the smoke is still unknown. Up ahead the cave opens into a huge room. Quan continues to scout foward

[sblock=Quan]
As you peak around the corner you see three ogres eating from the same kill that the wolves were feasting on. A huge fire lights up the entire cave. Piles of rubble, stones, bones and waist are scattered about the floor. The smell here is so bad that it makes you eyes water.

[sblock=Save vs Endurance 15]
If you fail you feel sick, which will affect your ability to attack: -1 to all attack rolls and your ability to move: -1 to movement until you successfully save

Quan's brows furrow when Lerrick is directed to climb the tree. He whispers words of encouragement and makes sure she uses the elven cloak to help her remain hidden while up in the tree.

[sblock=rolls] Perception: 1d20+11 → [8,11] = (19). Endurance: 1d20+11 → [20,11] = (31) Roll Lookup . I hate wasting 20's like that.

Quan moves quickly and silently ahead of the group. The stench is almost unbearable, but his life in the military made him used to terrible and horrible things.

After scanning the room and taking in the details, Quan moves back and informs the group of the ogres, the hill giant, their locations, and possible defensible positions.

"And," he adds, "It smells worse than Hell's latrine in there. See if you can use a cloth to keep you nose and mouth covered."

Here's the map

Please position yourselves anywhere from row 12 or below in the path area.

[Sblock=endurance checks]

Note: Any positioning of characters above row 11 and in the entire room requires an endurance check 15 as the smell is unbearable.

Quan has already saved

Save: no adverse effects.
Fail: -1 to attack rolls and -1 to movement until the beginning of next turn where you will make another save. Once you've made the save there will be more checks for you to make.

[sblock=Perception check once in the room: 20]
if you roll above a 20 for perception check you'll spot something of interest.
