[Adventure]: The Mark of Trogdor (DM: Dimsdale, Judge ??)

Vimak Stonecarver, Goliath Runepriest 7

Vimak moves forward, weapon ready. Knowing that stealth isn't one of his strengths, he doesn't dare to venture to far.

"Wait!" Halleck says in a low voice, "wouldn't it make sense to stay here and draw them to us, or pull back to the mouth of the cave? Then their large size will keep them from being able to surround us."

OOC: Don't forget, +1 to your first attack, because Trogdor was a man/dragon-man/dragon.

"What if those whose equipment is outside are still alive?!"
She sneaks in behind the warriors, but doesn't advance far enough for smell to become too bad. She's used to natural smells, but even decaying things smell cleaner outside.

She silently calls Primera behind one of the heaps of refuse trying to hide the unicorn behind it.

Perception (1d20+12=17)
Stealth (1d20+12=19)

If D.T. is not line of sight blocking put primera in F 10 instead.

The troubadour was annoyed by how quickly his suggestion of caution was rebuffed, and he breifly considered yelling something to start with his plan anyway, but that was no way to win friends.
Instead, he moved up a bit, stocking in front of some treacherous looking rocks, and gave his logic another shot.

"Granted, I don't know much about wolves, but our current plan has left our ward unguarded outside. Worst case, the wolves manage to attack her. Best case, the wolves come in the cave and pin us between the giants. Either way, the safety of people who we know are alive seems more important than those who are almost assuredly dead."

[sblock=If the others seem do not relent in their advance]
Halleck intended to hold the back line, and defend them from the wolves. "If we are taking from behind," he said, "You'd better give me some backup."

[sblock=Note to other Players: Bravura]
Halleck has the Bravura Presence:
When an ally who can see you spends an action point to take an extra action and uses the action to make an attack, the ally can choose to take advantage of this feature before the attack roll. If the ally chooses to do so and the attack hits, the ally can either make a basic attack or take a move action after the attack as a free action. If the attack misses, the ally grants combat advantage to all enemies until the end of his or her next turn.

Melee characters might also want to save their AP until I hit with Withering Courage, so they can double dip on the +5 damage bonus.

If the target makes this attack, an ally of your choice within 5 squares of the target can make a basic attack against the target as a free action and has combat advantage for the attack.

[/sblock][sblock=Halleck's Log]
1. Thorkelson, a bald, tattooed man, entered the hangman's tavern and recruits Halleck and Vimak for a job. Thorkelson, needed some protection at the docks, but apparently had some sinister other motive, since he used drinks from the bar to drug Halleck and Vimak.

2. Wake up in the middle of a fight, being helped by strangers. Give the bandits a beating,

3. Get approached by the bandit leaders, who have two girls that look exactly like that one we want. The real girl is revealed, and natural, a fight breaks out. After we smash the goons, their leader, Hank the Tank comes out. And, eventually, Hank gets killed.

4. Get the real mission: deliver Lerrick to brother Buchta, so he can remove the mark of Trogdor from her forehead. The mark is in indicator to all that Lerrick has been chosen to be sacrificed to the dragon Bosch. Your quest as of now is to provide safe passage for Lerrick to brother Buchta so that he can perform the ritual. This includes taking her to the portal, traveling thought it, and then taking her from the portal to brother Buchta's place of residence.

While you were scouting, you noticed a tattered backpack behind a pile of rubble. It's contents are spilled on the ground next to it. Besides the shimmering glow of gold coins there are two potions that you recognize as potions of extra healing. The square is marked on the map with an "X"

"I agree with Halleck," Quan whispers, "We should remove the threat behind us and make sure Lerrick is secure before we clear the ogre and giant threat and see what lays down that tunnel. It's sound tactics."

OOC: Raijin Successful Perception Check
[sblock=Raijin]
You notice in a small opening along the northern part of the wall of the cave that there is a rotting corpse, decapitated with one of his legs ripped off, still clutching a sword similar to the would Halleck is currently using, but of much better quality (Harmonic Spellblade Longsword +2). The corpse is located at "Y" on the map.
