[No big deal, I was teasing, anyway. BTW, 400 more XP levels Rurik - how do I take care of that? Just update Rurik's sheet?]

Yep, level away..we are on the fast track on this one!
Ishmael and Kirin should have leveled as well...I'll check the others.

"Oi, 'ese wags fall an easy piece." He looks to Rurik, as he wipes his blade. "Anythin' glinty on 'em?"

Still, the drum incites more curiosity than any loot these creatures may or (more likely) may not have. He stands at the door, scythe readied, waiting for someone else to open it or give word for him to open it.

(OOC - Woo! The boards are back up to useable speed! Let's hope it lasts...)

I assume that won't help with the spell situation till we rest normally?

There was some talk in Discussion about that some time ago. (It makes the Rules-Lawyer in me cringe a bit,but...) Go ahead and 'pick' your additional spell, you folks will need it.

Cool, a Bless and a Resistance are added to the mix, and probably a couple more points in heal...

did kirin find a test subject and if so were there any effects from the holy water?

OOC: does that include kirin? She never made it on itiative and was hanging back due to complete uselessness... Aside from stabalizing someone down to the negs, there's not much for her to do at this point... speaking of which are there any healing potions left? or healing from the druid?

in the wake of the battle, Kirin enters and looks around. If no one is injured, she will look to see if any of the monks is lingering (don't know if you do the "no negs for bad guys" rule). If so, she will pour a small amount of the holy water she has on the mark on his chest and see what, if anything, happens.

OoC: Yep, that includes Kirin, as well as Aranel, though she wasn being played by someone else for a time. Later, after folks get a feel for their characters (and we DMs get a feel for what their personalities are like) I will be giving differing XP for RPing, but for now I prefer to give equal amounts. As far as not being in on the kill, Kirin's spells and skills are still part of the overall victory,so she earns her keep just like crazed Axe/scythe swinging Dwarves. Man, if these games link, there will be 3 Dwarves (shakes his head).
As far as the negs thing goes. Sure, usually assume that the badguys are allowed to slip into (-10) death, but you could revive/whatever on them, as well as try your trick with the holy Water.

IC: Krin pours out a small amount of holy Water upon the mark of kroggoth on the Monk's chest, and is immediately assaulted by an acrid stench (similar to beng downwind from a pile of burning skns/furs,burning flesh and hair, not a good smell), as well as seeing the Mark sizzle and pop from the water.

OOC: in the course of updating character remembers there are some benifits of being a gnome... must use spell like abilities...

Kirin nods and says quietly "Perhaps I should hold all the holy waters. It looks like they can be some level of weapon... or I can only hope moreso. And I am lacking in effective weapons at the moment."

While waiting for the rest, Sir Ishmael falls into a reverie. He stares blankly at the corpses strewn about like rag dolls after a child's tantrum. Perhaps it was the dark atmosphere within what was once a sanctified place, but thoughts and images began to creep into his distracted mind.

These danced about the fringes of his conscious thought, remaining ethereal and out of grasp. Slowly, Sir Ishmael faces the yawning portal from whence they came from. It seems a great beast's open maw to the halfling's wandering mind. He took a small step back to avoid the inexorable, all the while staring into the shadows of the room beyond.

"What manner of sorcery..."

"Nay, not so's I c'n see it, anyhow. Be willin' ta bet what made 'em this way is carryin' loot a-plenty, though."

Rurik stands around, and then has an epiphany. "If'n I follow through like so, an' the beast is dropped," he pantomimes the move with his axe in mid-air, "I c'n step thisaway an' come up with another stroke, like so. Huh. Wunner why I din' thinka tha' afore."

Rurik hands his holy water to Kirin. "Might be better ta have you carry it - I might break it or summat."

"So, who's ready ta crash the party?"

[I'll take exception to 'crazed axe-wielding dwarf,' thank you very much. Only one of us is crazed, and that's only on his initiative, if he wants to. :D]
