Adventure: The Power of Knowledge (DM: Fragsie, Judge: TwoHeadsBarking)

[sblock=Streetwise Check] Mikara rolls a 28 streetwise [/sblock]

"Hyann you say, hmmm? I've heard of that pathetic street thug of a Gnoll. You're doing great Paeter, let's keep playing. Question 2. What is Hyann doing in Daunton, where is Hyann's Daunton hideout and how can we get in there without coming into contact with all of his cronies and guards? If you've never been there, tell me who would know...NOW! And so help me if you say something along the lines 'oh but the person who would know is Thomas...' and I'll... yaknow, I'll just let you use your imagination on that one..."

[sblock=Actions]
- Free: Assassin's Shroud #2
- Standard: Intimidate Check of 20...again, lol.

"But miss, Hyann's not in Daunton, or if he is, he's keepin' it low profile, cos this new guy is super nasty. That's what I'm tellin ya miss; we is all doin' what we is told or else we gets it, if ya know my meanin'. I used to work for da gnoll, he had a hideout on Crow Street, but it's empty now miss. Exceptin' the bodies of those what said no to follow da Lord and got 'emselves killed by Tomas and his brother. Dis Lord has got nearly all da gangs doin what he says, they're not fightin each other no more.

Please miss, I has told ya what I know, how about you be lettin me go eh? I make you a promise that I get out of Daunton and stop the thievin yeh? I got a cousin in Barcate I can go stay wiv and get out of dis mess.
"

"Oh, but my dear man, we're not done playing the game yet, though you've been cooperating rather nicely, so bonus points for you. Now, If Hyann's not in Daunton or he's keeping a low profile, then tell me about this 'Lord' you mentioned. And while you're at it, you can tell me about Thomas's brother too."

Shane bows his head and spends long moments in quiet contemplation, hardly noticing both the entrance of the newcomer and the ongoing interrogation.

"The Lord I don't know much about miss, ceptin' that he is who Tomas and his older brother Kyvan is workin' for, and da other gang bosses, them what's still alive say he is fearsome powerful, and dey seem scared of him when dey say so.

Tomas and Kyvan was nothin' but little rotters before now, dey was oldest o' da street orphans and pick-pockets, nothin' to be scared of. I used to give 'em a clip round da earhole when I saw 'em, and told 'em to scarper. But since Dey is working for dis Lord, dey became awful strong and dey not scared o' no one no more.
"

As Paeter is talking about Tomas and his brother, he looks over to the broken form of Tomas' body and utters a gasp; "See, look miss, that's what I'm tellin' ya, da Lord has got powers what make people different!" he cries pointing at the fallen warrior.

Except, where you would expect to see the broken body of a tall muscular young man, you instead see a scrawny youth, it is obviously still Tomas but where before you could have believed him to be a blacksmiths son, now you would struggle to believe he had done a days hard labour in his life.

At the foot of the alter, the broken horned minotaur now looks more like what you would expect from a hardened gladiator with rippling muscles and a broad chest, his breathing is more regular and he stirs as though he is on the edge of conciousness.

"Ahh, I see. Well, Paeter, you have been a marvelous contestant. Unfortunately, we can't have you going off and telling your bosses about us, so it's time for you to say goodnight."

With that, Mikara places a fourth and final shroud on her prisoner, then lifts her blade and smacks him in the temple with the flat side of it, hoping to knock him out cold so that they could decide what to do with him later. Both her and Andrec's shadows follow suite and lift their shadow weapons, smacking the prisoner in time with Mikara.

With Brother Shane so near, killing in cold blood would only cause arguments, and who knows, they may decide to kill the prisoner later, in which case, she won't have a squirming target.

- Free: Invoke 4th and final shroud
- Standard: Attack the prisoner with Shadow Storm, hitting AC 23 for 33 damage; again intending to knock the target unconscious, not kill him. [/sblock]

Noticing his companions talking to the remaining bandits, and disregarding the new arrival, Ceryx heads straight for the altar. He looks around for anything that might shine some light on why the Minotaurs looks so sickly, or what the purpose of this altar is for.

[sblock=Rolls?]Should I roll a perception or a religion? I figure they both are apt, one is for looking, one is for using the religion skill to determine what the alter was being used for.[/sblock]

Glancing down at his shadow as it returns to its proper place, Andrec says in a quiet voice "you make quite free with that which is not yours, miss. I'd advise you to curb that behavior while in the city."

[sblock=Re: text colors]I'm playing around with my options. I've been intentionally using the white to reflect Andrec's usually quiet tone and bland appearance. I'm looking for a color that will both serve the purpose of a text color, and still not stand out too much. So I'll mess around, and when I find one I like, I'll edit my previous posts, for the convenience of readers.[/sblock]

[sblock=Alter] A religion check please :)[/sblock]
Slowly, the recovering minotaur opens his eyes. Filled with confusion he looks up at Skalisss,
"Who are you?" He asks the dragonborn, "What happened to me?" The gladiator looks over to his fellows, still withered and unconscious and memory rushes back to him, the minotaur growls deeply and tries to stand. "Are you responsible for this deception?!"
