Grryth breaths a sigh of releif as the shapeshifter brings down the messanger.

"Nice work" Grryth says to the others and gives a nod of approval to each of his new packmates.

He moves closer to inspect the now dormant messanger and upon seeing the gem inside begins to try and pry open the creature and retreive the gem.

Upon hearing the gnome Grryth looks back for a moment and then resumes his work of trying to get the gem.

Great, all we need is to be accused of murder...

Alexia quickly turns to the gnome, smiling disarmingly. "Sir, if you would please keep your voice down. There are a number of people above us, and it won't help the guards get here any faster if they have to fight through a crowd. Oh, and there is no reason for you to fear for your safety. This fiendish device is what killed that poor man, not us. See for yourself, none of us have blood on our weapons." At that, Alexia presents her sword for inspection in a very non-threatening manner. (ooc: Naturally, please scratch that last part if the messenger's oils and such resemble blood.)

She then lightly hits herself in the forehead with the base of her palm, "Oh, where are my manners. My name is Alexia Madgearu. I am sorry to have given you such a shock."

[sblock=ooc]Diplomacy to calm him down, using Words of Friendship power. Only 27. Oh well.[/sblock]

[sblock=Alexia] Oh, only a 27, yeah, that's all... just a 27, lol! [/sblock]

Seeing the dark-grey oil dripping off of her sword, the gnome sighs a breath of relief and steps forward.

"So sorry! I'm just not used to seeing such a display! My name is Modan. Modan Fuzzlebuttle. It's nice to meet you Alexia! What in the world happened down here and what ..." says the gnome until he spots the Messenger. He gets a far off look for a moment. "What in the worlds is this wonderful piece of machinery? It looks almost like a... oh yes, very interesting. Ahh, and look here the way that the psudopexian gyros move in a... OH wow... how did the creator manage to make the bysimbien rotators do that!?....NO!! It ISN'T! A RECUMBANT, DUAL STAGE, MICROFLASTIC INTERIOR BROMIDIFIER!!!?..... AMAZING!" The gnome snaps out of his seeming lack of internal dialogue and looks at the group.

"I have GOT to have this device. Now I know... you just destroyed it, it probably did bad things, but I want to fix it. Now don't look at me like that, I'm not going to release it on the world or anything. I just want to dismantle it and put it back together... you know, just to learn about it mechanically, alchemically, and arcanically. I'll even trade you for it! I've got a bunch of 'adventure type' stuff back in my lab you guys might want. What do you say?"

[sblock=Wishlists] And this is where your first bit of loot comes into play. I need a wishlist from everyone or an acknowledgment that random (but class applicable) loot is okay for your character. Here's how I am going to do loot for this campaign:

I will have each of you roll 1d6 two times (the second time is only to be used for tie-breaking). Whoever gets the highest number gets the loot this time around. Treasured PCs will not be allowed to roll for loot again until next level. If you are the 4th, 5th, or 6th person to get loot in a given level, I will give you a +1 bonus to the next roll you make. You should place a note in your stat block showing what position you got for that level. For Example, if at this level (lvl 4) you are the 1st to get loot, put "Lvl 4: Treasured 1st!". If you have not yet received any loot, please put "Lvl 4: non-treasured" in your stat-blocks so that I can make sure that you get to roll the next time loot comes up. [/sblock]

Sounds like a good trade to me. I'm ok with that, though I must say that we must take this gem with us. Don't worry though, as it was not part of this stealing machine.

Everyone ok with what he offers?

Gurdan initially views the gnome with some skepticism, worried that he might put the disabled machine to nefarious uses, but his concern quickly dissipates in a fog as the gnome's incomprehensible machine-babble drones on. (OOC: Insight 5. :))

"Eh, sounds fair enough as commerce goes, but the gem stays with us."

The gnome looks confused as Gurdan and Garrick mention a gem.

"Gem... what gem? OH! You mean the finely-shaped amber covering of a divineoarcane substance. I can certainly pry it out of this guy if you need it. Please, follow me back to my lab so that we can make the exchange. And here, you guys can hold on to this mechanical wonder just so you know I'm not trying to steal from you."

The gnome steps back onto the lift and waits for everyone to get on, an anticipatory smile stretching across his little face.

[sblock=wishlist]I won't be able to produce a wishlist for a couple days, depending on how some proposals go. If this threatens to slow things down too much, then can I just bow out of the treasure distribution this time around?

Oh, and 27 isn't exactly bad, but when you have +16 to the roll, you can't help but hope for something in the thirties.[/sblock]

[sblock=loot]
forgive me for asking this, but what level loot items can we put on our wish list for this time around?

thanks

[sblock=ooc]Up to level+4, aka 8. However, you can't repeat any parcels you used during character creation, if I understand the LEB reward system correctly (and I suppose I ought to).[/sblock]
