[sblock=re: bluff check] HT... that depends ENTIRELY on whether or not you are actually lying to the party. They already have a good idea that who you appear as is most likely not your real form, so no disguise bluff check is necessary there. If you are lying to the party, then feel free to roll (or have me roll) a bluff check for you (though you will not get your +5 bonus for your racial ability as the lie is not a disguise, though you would get to use your beguiling tongue if you wished). With "business" concluded, the gnome scrambles over to one of his work benches and begins cleaning it off. Each part he moves with loving care as he put it in a labeled receptacle beneath the workbench. When it is cleared off enough, he moves the Messenger onto the workbench and begins prying off each of the wrapped tentacles so that he can get access to the underbelly of the creature. After a few minutes of work, he had managed to pry open the already damage underside and had removed the gem.
"I don't know who you guys work for, but I definitely would not be keeping this little dandy in sight any longer. Something this powerful belongs in a guarded mages tower or a museum of the arcane arts. Of course, I suppose it could also go into a museum of the divine... but either way. Feel free to rest in the back room there (he points to a room to the north of you) as long as you need. When you are done resting, the lift should be able to take you down to the main floor. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a LOT of work (well, it's really more like play to me, hehe) to do, and this will create a lot of noise in this room, so I will bid you good day and thank you for this marvelous find!"
The gnome pulls out a slender wand and a thin, yet white hot stream of fire sprays out of the wand for about three or four inches. The gnome begins to use the want to slowly cut the Messenger's chassis into two halves and sparks fly in every direction.
