[sblock=ooc, for serious]
That was more ooc than anything else, poking fun at how Alexia isn't above using the mechanical advantages the warlord brings to the table just because they're at odds.

Lo-kag yells back to Alexia as he's trying to work the cannon. "Hey, even though we hate each other, I'm not stupid. Your fighting skills are...pretty good...and I'm glad we're fighting on the same side."

*sighs*

That statement was never ever supposed to be in continuity, on account of how Alexia isn't talking to Lo-Kag. It was just part of the commentary track. Besides, if Alexia was going to actually say something like that, it would have been a lot pithier. Oh well, too late now.[/sblock]

Alexia rolls her eyes at the "pretty good" comment, but doesn't say anything in response.

[sblock=ooc]Unless Lo-Kag's only missed with one attack this entire adventure, I think Alexia has him beat.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC] Sorry, THB, that comment was written "in character" so I though you may have meant to place that outside of the sblocks. I'll try to check with you guys in the future if I see that kind of thing again.

Lo-Kag: I'm going to let it slide this time, but please don't revise actions after receiving information that you got only after your character took actions. If Lo-Kag had not gotten into the cart, he would not have seen the rod-hole and would not know that the warforged has it. Also, firing the cannon is a standard action, like shooting anything else. You character did not know about the rod-hole until after he attempted to fire at the bandit. It's not the pulling the lever that costs the standard action, it's the aiming at the other cart and THEN pulling the lever that makes it take a standard action.

So here's the deal. I'm going to let it ride this time and you can still be next to Tracker, but I am going to take away the penalty that was given to Bandit 1. You however, do not know about the firing rod unless you succeed at a DC 15 perception check and a DC 15 Arcana check (I'll let you do these as free actions since I'm switching things up here). ooc: Lo-kag knows that, but he would never admit that to Alexia ;)

[sblock=Kalidrev]
Sorry about that Kalidrev. I thought that Lo-Kag knew about the rod from your description of the cannon misfire. I didn't think it would be hard for Lo-Kag to assume that the rider had the rod. After noticing that lo-kag couldn't shoot the cannon, I decided that it would be pointless for Lo-Kag, a warlord to move away from the group, since many of his attacks are more suited with people being around him. What good is a ship that can't shoot a cannon. Anyway, sorry for the mishap.

perception check: 1d20+1= 19
arcana check: 1d20+5 = 17

well thank you IC!

[sblock=Dimsdale] No prob, man, it's just that your revamped actions messed a bit with the time continuum ;) In your first set of actions, Lo-kag got on the cart, then aimed and fired the cannon without checking anything first. Lo-Kag heard the click from the misfire, so he looked around the controls and spotted the empty rod hole.

Then, with your revamped actions, Lo-Kag DIDn't get in the cart, but instead dashed directly into the fight, yet he still knew about the empty rod-hole.

It's just a bit of a meta-game mix up is all :) And now all is fixed and handled. [/sblock]

[sblock=Another new rule (sorry everyone) ] To prevent any further mix ups, if you post your actions and get an in character response that ties in with your posted actions, you cannot get a "do over". I may make some exceptions to this rule, but I would like this to be the standard. If you want to do something but are unsure of the mechanics, post something OOC until you make up your mind. I'm sorry if this seems harsh (I know, I'm being a jerk... sorry everyone), but I don't like the idea of getting a do-over just because you don't like the results of your actions. To me, the situation with Lo-Kag felt the same as if he'd rolled an attack roll and missed, and BECAUSE he didn't like that he missed, he changed his actions. It's okay to attack Tracker if that's what you WANTED to do... but attacking someone else and being unsuccessful, and then revamping your actions because the results don't fit what you want isn't fair, nor is it part of the rules.

Okay, okay, I'm getting off of my jerk soap box now. Again, sorry for the rant....(maybe I'm just having a bad morning, so if I'm being overly harsh, please PM me if you have any issues with what I have stated above and we can discuss it.)

Thanks!

renau1g: I would actually like some input on this kind of situation if you could, please. You can either post here or PM me about it. Either way. [/sblock]

Lo-Kag dashes by the blown out hole of the cabin on the west side of the rail and notices that the cannon mechanism on the elemental cart requires a rod to enable firing. Unfortunately, paying more attention to the cart outside, and less to the battle at hand, Lo-Kag's attack goes wide and bounces off of the metalic hide of the transformed warforged.

Occ: I have no problem with this.

Sorry, but I got to have to dispute this a little.

Lo-Kag did go into the cart. He fired the cannon. You then told me that the cannon didn't fire because it was missing a rod and that I still have two squares to move.

My mistake was assuming that Lo-Kag knew that the reason the cannon didn't fire was because of the missing rod. Lo-kag moved two squares to fight the foe with the key. My second mistake was that I assumed that I still had an attack left (which you pointed out was not true since the action of firing the cannon should have been an attack) As a penalty for thinking that I did, how about taking away my AP as the attack on the foe with the rod as it was definitely an extra action.

I know I was in error there, but not the way you described it. I don't cheat like that. To me, part of the fun is role-playing why I missed as well as why I hit.

I hope that makes sense. Thanks for your time. I'm done with my rant now.

Should we just forget about the DC succusses in arcana and perception as well. I'll just assume that Lo-Kag has no idea how to get the cannon to fire. Let's move on :)

Grryth snarls and faces the warforged-turned-animal and while not taking his eye off his prey and keeping his defenses up he moves into a flanking position with gurdan.
"Grrrr, I'm really startin ta hate thes guys" he grumbles, and he takes a measured swing at the metal beast to test it's defenses.

[sblock=Mechanics]
Move Action = Pass Forward; move from n8 to n10
Standard Action = Attack with Crushing Surge; attack vs Tracker (1d20+10=16)....forgot to add +2 for flanking, but that is still only an 18, so probably a miss.
damage, just in case 18's a hit (1d6+7=13)

ooc: Uh, nerdytenor, would you mind taking a crack at the skill challenge this turn? Something tells me Kalidrev isn't going to let us get away with making Garrick make the checks (assuming Otakkun doesn't reappear).
