Merrry Xmas to everyone. I hope you all had nice family time and enjoyed the holidays.

Garrick will use his second wind and will be on standby, aiming to aid someone else with their efforts (he realizes he's done more harm than good trying to help by his own so far).

[sblock=Second Wind]Surge Value: 10[/sblock]

OOC: Being that Masumi is currently next to the engine, she would need to use the run action twice in order to get mostly through the second cabin, which would mean she would take another 5 next round. She could then move into the non-burning cabin, and help with Skill Challenge 3.

[sblock=Skill Challenges]
Round 3:

Skill Challenge 1: (3/6 successes 0/3 failures)

Masumi tactfully asks Shaefa for help and gains her help, earning a success.

Skill Challenge 2: (4/6 successes 1/3 failures)

Grryth beats the flames down some more and gets the cabin closer to being extinguished, earning a success.

Skill Challenge 3: (3/6 successes 1/3 failures)

Lo-Kag uses his words with the tongue of a silver dragon and manages to coordinate an effective fire brigade, earning a success.

Statuses:

Masumi: 10/39 HP; Bloodied *
Alexia: 24/43 HP
Grryth: 24/52 HP; Regen 2 (halted until bloodied)
Gurdan: 24/57 HP; Bloodied
Garrick: 19/40 HP; Bloodied*
Lo-Kag: 16/45 HP; Bloodied *

ooc: Isn't cabin three buring as well? Lo-kag has spent three rounds of skill challenges to put out the flames there and is currently taking 5 points ongoing fire damage per round. If Masumi can make it to cabin two and SCREAM loudly, Lo-kag can hear her and run to her aide using inspiring word on her.

[sblock=Skill Challenge # vs Cabins] I think you are confusing the cabins with the skill challenge #'s. The ENGINE is skill challenge #1. The Wealthy Cabin (the one you started in) is Skill Challenge #2. The Middle Class cabin (one cabin south of the wealthy cabin) is Skill Challenge #3. The poor cabin (where all of the NPCs are huddling) WOULD be Skill Challenge 4 if it were on fire. In order to deal with a skill challenge, most of the time you will need to be in the cabin that is on fire (thus taking the fire damage). I would allow creativity if you had a ranged spell/ability/idea of skill use and could stay in the poor cabin while working on Skill Challenge #3. Currently the ONLY safe zone on the train is the poor cabin. This is why I have avoided using "cabin #" and have used "Wealthy/Middle-Class/Poor cabin" when describing which areas I was dealing with. Seeing that the deva has the situation under control, Alexia returns her attention to the fire. She tears off her cloak and begins beating out the flames. Her efforts are successful, but it remains to be seen whether her garment will survive the ordeal.

[sblock=mechanics]Athletics for Challenge #2, 22. Oh man, we could finish #2 this round. That would be great.[/sblock]

Alexia manages to beat out several sections of flame with her cloak, and with the exception of a significant amount of soot covering the bottom of it, her cloak was completely undamaged.

Meanwhile, Garrick takes a breather, covering his mouth with his cloak to keep from breathing in more soot. After only a few seconds, he feels ready to get back into the action!

Round 3:

Skill Challenge 1: (3/6 successes 0/3 failures)

Masumi tactfully asks Shaefa for help and gains her help, earning a success.

Skill Challenge 2: (5/6 successes 1/3 failures)

Grryth beats the flames down some more and gets the cabin closer to being extinguished, earning a success.
Alexia beats the flames down too, earning the group another success.

Skill Challenge 3: (3/6 successes 1/3 failures)

Lo-Kag uses his words with the tongue of a silver dragon and manages to coordinate an effective fire brigade, earning a success.

Other actions: Garrick spends a standard action to use Second Wind.

Statuses:

Masumi: 10/39 HP; Bloodied *
Alexia: 19/43 HP; Bloodied*
Grryth: 24/52 HP; Bloodied, Regen 2*
Gurdan: 24/57 HP; Bloodied
Garrick: 19/40 HP; Bloodied*
Lo-Kag: 16/45 HP; Bloodied *

Didn't nerdytenor say that he might need someone to roleplay Gurdan during the holidays? If so, I'd be happy to do so. I hope you don't mind nerdytenor.

Gurdan, after healing himself feels a surge of power and the will to continue the battle against the flames. With smoke now covering the entire cabin, Gurdan drops low to get a better vantage point to pinpointing the score of the fire. He scans the area

occ: skill check for cabin 2 perception: 1d20+9=27

Spotting the source of the fire, he crawls towards it.

[sblock=ooc]
I believe that Gurdan was the last skill check for round three. I'm going ahead to Lo-Kag's round four skill check in cabin 3.
[/sblock]

"Yes everyone!..that's it! We're winning here! Keep it up!" Lo-kag continues to shout words of encouragement and finds new strength to attack the fire next to him with a seat cushion.

ooc: skill check for cabin 3: athletics: 1d20+10=21

The fire has no chance as it is repeatedly pounded by the seat cushion.
