[Adventure] The Sibylline Idol (Judge covaithe)

Rurdev ponders the brown liquid that welled in the sage's eyes and can only imagine that he has been tainted by the contact with the idol. Perhaps the old man's apparent age has reduced his ability to resist what ever strange effects the idol might radiate. What ever the case, touching the idol with bare hands appears to be hazardous to the health.

Riardon meanwhile ruminates on the strange signs that the revelation of the idol and the sage's research have unearthed. From what he can remember the realm of these strange creatures that has come up multiple times already appears to be bleeding into the reality of the world though the idol.

With no more questions and all due haste imparted upon the group they make to leave the sage's home. Incarnation has the idol in the sack now as the smelly bunch of heroes step out into a light drizzle.

[sblock=ooc]Alrighty if that is all that you have at the sage's we'll be off. Is the sword sticking around here? or being brought with?

oh and I mentioned that the last combat was the final one. As you can hopefully see there is still a puzzle to come that needs solving. That might end up being a combo skill challenge/combat unless someone ends up having the answers IC already.[/sblock]

No one stops the group as the return through town to the glassblower's. Out behind they find that the thugs have cleared off with the others but the door to the basement is still ajar. Heading down the secret passage way into the segregated sewer system it takes almost no time to drop down again into the lower sewers and the rough cut caverns. After travelling the long low corridor they emerge into the cavern with the rift. A low hum has begun and it appears like the thin rift is pulsing every minute or so. The floor is empty and beyond the hum there is no other noise. The altar is as they left it beneath the rift. Slime from the slivers is hardening and some of which is getting brittle.
