Round One

Troi charges the Zombie, hitting it <3HP> with his balde, though it seems to do a minimal of damage.

tThe Zombie retaliates with a swing of it's clawed hand, missing wildly (thoughit does destroy a chair with it's blow.

The others gain the platform just outside of the Chamber.

Round Two

Felix trips as he looses an arrow, which sails overhead and sticks in a beam in the ceiling <I rolled a '1', sorry>.

Troi swings again, though his balde fails to connect with the Zombie.

The Zombie, moaning and gnashing it's teeth swings again, though this blow, too, fails to connect.

Thale rushes past Felix and charges the Zombie, slamming it <7HP>.

A crossbow bolt slams into the Zombe's head, spraying gore all over Troi and Thale, though the ZOmbie falls back, quite Dead.

Velbrik stands in the doorway, grinning and holding his crossbow <No crits, but rolled a '20', 7HP and finished it off>.

Whiping the zombies gore off his axe, Thale looks at the others. "Who do ya think made that? I don't think the Dwarf was a necromancer, or that the Tower was cursed. If this new breed of orcs" Thale makes sure everyone knows what type of orcs he means, kicking the head of the zombie across the room "has more magic-users in their tribes than normal orcs, we may be in alot of trouble"

"Hrm..." Troi says, wiping the gore off of himself. "That went better than usual, I s'pose..."

He retrieves his whip, and sheathes his longsword. "Damn, I knew there was a reason I was gonna get a short sword... anybody got one handy, or spare? I can give ya the longsword in return, if ya need it."

He then looks to Thale. "I dunno, man... these orcs are kinda weird. They follow the deity... um, Kroggoth, I think is th' name. I dunno anythin' 'bout him, an' I sure as hell dunno 'bout this weird not-dead one. Kinda creepy. An' I dunno anythin' bout the dwarf mage guy, either."

"But hey, you're a priest, right? Don't ya know how these things are made, or somethin'?"

Shrugging his shoulders, Thale begins to pace the room.
"Powerfull magic, and evil magic. It would take a strong wizard or preist something like this" He kicks the corpse of the undead orc, indicating that he was still talking about that "The only time I have seen its equal was when a band of goblins tried to invade my peoples home. After some raiding bands of goblins killed our warriors, one of our preists went mad with greif. He raised the elves as zombies. The use of such tainted magic slowly corrupted him, and we had to kill him. If the dwarf made it, I don't care that the Orcs killed him."

Troi's brow furrows. "Y'know, fer bein' a priest, you're a pretty biased guy... no offense, or anythin', but it's people like you who make me wonder about religion."

He shrugs. "We're here ta protect the dwarf guy, an' find out what happened to 'im... or somethin' like that."

"Now, do ya have anythin' specific? Like where ya can get magic like that? Or are ya just gonna go on about how 'evil' and 'nasty' it all is?"

While speaking, Troi is trying to pay attention to his surroundings, looking for anything unusual that stands out, and listening vaguely for any more noises.

Shruging his shoulders, Thale begins looking around the room for some sort of desk or drawer set.
"From your god I suppose. They could also get it off of a magical scroll, a staff, or an artifact. You mean to tell me that reanimating a body without its soul, to use it for your own purposes, dosn't strike you as evil?"

Velbrik nods. "It might indeed have belonged to the dwarf - he definitely doesn't suspect rescue, so I'm willing to bet that he spent a bit of time setting up some guards while he figures out how to escape."

He glances at Thale. "I have to agree with Troi, though. I see nothing inherently evil about such magic. It's not as if he's defiling the orc's soul, if it had one to begin with. The beast ought to make up for in death the foul things it undoubtedly did in life."

"On the other hand, it might also have been the work of these Kroggothites - in which case we may be in more trouble than we suspect."

"If the undead arn't inherently evil, then why don't we have zombie slaves doing everything? We could have probaly bought some zombies to set off any traps or such. Good Religons hate undead for a reason. They dont like evil."

Velbrik frowns. "You're leaping to an unfounded judgement there, and therefore an unfounded conclusion. I will accept that good opposes evil, yes. But you have yet to show much beyond that. What is it that makes them so evil, in your mind? Creating a zombie is really no more morally reprensible than animating an object."

"I don't think you're gonna win this one, Thale." Troi says, shaking his head. "I'm not a very religious person, an' I think Velbrik knows what he's talkin' about. Hell, if I were the dwarf an' needed guards, I'd make a critter like that... saves puttin' real people in danger. An' if ya wanna know why we don't have 'em runnin' around as slaves... just look at it. It looks like crap. I don't wanna hafta see that everyday. That's just nasty, an' it's just creepy ta begin with. Probably unhealthy as all hell, too, bein' dead an' all..."

"But anyway, if we wanna have a discussion like this, we should have it later, y'know? Like, when we're not in a tower that we just found a walking dead thing in? For now, let's just agree that we don't like these things, and should get rid of 'em - for whatever reason. An' find the dwarf, too, if he's still alive."
