[Adventure] Trouble in Moonwatch (Judge: THB) - Part II

River is sleeping, but Val, who is taking watch, see the shifter is disturbed by some nightmare...

River was standing in the large pavilion. The war was raging. It was the forth day of fight, and he and the other member of house Jorasco couldn't help every wounded. Too many wounded, too heavily wounded. Their powers was limited, the rituals took time, cost too much. River was looking at a man, his leg was black. His wound was not mortal when he came, so he was left aside, but now, the wound have become gangrenous.

"We need to cure him" tells River.

"We are almost out of healing salve. Cut the leg." replies a halfling.

"What? We can't do that!" says River.

"He will survive. He will even be able to do some work, he won't just fight anymore."

River blink a moment. standing there.

"Anyway, magic wouldn't help him anymore. Sometimes, you need to take extremes measures to save lives. This leg is lost, but the man can be saved. Take that saw and do the job." order the halfling, handing the bone saw to River.

The man was unconscious, but when River starts to saw the leg, the man awoke and start to shout and cry. River continued, biting his lips and not looking at the man face, unable to bear the pain of the man.

Sometimes, you need to take extremes measures to save lives. thought River, telling that sentence again and again, trying to convince himself. As he continue to cut the leg, he turns and look at the man, but it was no more a soldier, it was a cultist, then another one, then another one, then one of the kids of that Khyberist village...

[SBLOCK=OOC]River updated to level 8... River start to slowly slide to the dark side :p [/SBLOCK]

When a mind is taken so young, and they are modeled as those cultist are doing, they become out of reach. One on a million might be saved, but the chance are too slim... what can be done? tells River to Val through his mindlink. We need to find the Paladin if he is still alive and captured by those cultist.

"We try, it is all we can do. I fear you are right about the children, but perhaps the Flamist is below. That is where we will search."

As they settle down for a fearful rest, Valahad tries to stay alert as possible, eyes narrowing at every strange noise. He sees River is is having a disturbed rest, but he knows better to wake the dreaming. The kalashtar makes note to talk to the shifter if they make it out of the village alive about his thoughts.

[sblock=ooc]I'll be updating my CS tomorrow night.[/sblock]

Edit: Actually with my DM RP from Dirty Money, Val would have enough xp to reach level 9. :) and would have 8 left over.

Edit 2: We'd get some parcels then for redeeming the RP, do we get to choose these or is on you R1? The charter makes it sound like we get to choose. Unless you gave them to us now somehow, I would add them to the sheet, but not include them until we actually receive them.

Feall eats sparingly and settles into an uneasy trance, senses attuned to the hostile environment.

As he sat staring into the dark he reflected on the whirlwind his life had become since leaving the Carnival, and especially over these past few weeks . . . The ever present danger, the long days and longer nights he was used to; the friends he'd made, the warm camaraderie and the hurt when he lost one were feelings he thought he'd long since insulated himself from. Finally, the sense that he was doing something good with his talent for destruction was a warm balm to his psyche. He liked it. He liked it all.

[sblock=OOC]Feall's CS is updated.[/sblock]

Well, if I really wanted, I could push River to level 10 with my 22 DM credit left, but a jump of 4 levels would be abusive, even more when we would be level 6 character.[/sblock]

If renau1g allows it, I say that people can upgrade their PCs as high as he allows. It just means bigger challenges and more XP for Sheeva. ;)

It's not as if River isn't going to keep everyone alive. B-)

[SBLOCK=OOC]I don't want River to grow in power that fast. I don't know yet what I'll take as a Paragon Path. Will he be a Miracle Worker, to be the best healer LEB, or will he stick to his pacifist ideal and become a Message of Peace, or will he fall to the dark side and become a Zealous Demagogue?[/SBLOCK]

[sblock=OOC]I'm fine with the party level going up a bit; I'll just have to change Feall's combat style. He does OK on damage when he hits, but he's pretty squishy (as revealed by that last combat especially). I'm all for getting him more experience, especially as I don't DM in 4E so don't get any DM rewards. He'll definitely have to stay more on the fringes and take out the mooks while the higher level folk deal with the heavy hitters.[/sblock]

[SBLOCK=OOC]I would rather encourage that we keep our effort as much as possible on a single enemy at a time. One thing we had difficulty on the last combat, it is that we had 4 out of 5 bloodied enemy at one time. And with my new prophetic guidance, you'll be encourage to do so.[/SBLOCK]

Ok, assuming you are all going to take an extended rest, I just want to get the xp out there and give you all a chance to work on updating your CS', as we all know the wiki takes quite some time to update ;), while I'm slow/off

@TwoHeadsBarking - can you please review/approve of the xp awards contained on the 3rd - XP tab?

Thanks!

Yes, I can. And I will.[/sblock]
