Remember that dumb doesn't mean that you don't arrive at the right decisions, just that you don't arrive at them quickly.

Of course Int 5 is probably mentally retarded. Depending on the style of campaign, you could play him as humerously retarded. Cha 12 could mean cute retard. Plus Wis 14 could mean cute retard with surprisingly insightfull fortune-cookie type advice advice.

So yeah, exactly like Fry from Futurama.

Think of the guy on this board who most annoys you. Imagine him playing your character. Do what he would do.

Stop looking at me like that.

Hong,

Why do I think you're looking at me more than they are looking at you...?

*thinks he's paraniod...but who knows...* ;)

I played a character with similar mental stats, and another model which can be followed is Forrest Gump.

Try to do and say lots of dumb things - so long as they're fun for everybody. Using "I'm dumb" as an excuse to be a jackhole is still being a jackhole.

Wise, personable, and completely oblivious, while also lacking any reliable ability to react based on prior knowledge or experiences.

This is the guy that can tell when the rogue is lying, but will never stop touching the hot stove, and gets the girls anyway.

A low Int means you don't have much knowledge. But a high Wis means you notice things that should be obvious to anyone who doesn't look at a situation with preconceived notions.

Play your character like those movie kids that offer dead-on insight to grown-ups, like Dakota Fanning or Haley Joel Osment.
