Advice on recruiting a female gamer

So now we're horrors? :P

I can deal with being Shub.

Best advice is probably just to visit your local gaming shop, Starbux/cafes, and bookstores and see if they have a cork board you can post to with a throwaway email address/IM screenname. If you happen to see a lady who also appears to be a gamer, strike up friendly conversation. Plus... Don't smell funny and keep your hands out of your pockets. :)

1) Rig up a cage with a door that drops when you pull the rope.

2) Bait the cage with something cute (puppy, kitten, baby, etc) or shiny (diamonds).

3) Hide.

4) Pull rope when she investigates your clever trap and goes for the bait.

5) Slip D&D books and a character sheet to her through the bars of the cage.

6) Wheel her cage to the table at game time!

Great success!

My advice for recruiting a female gamer...
DON'T BE A CREEPY GAMER NERD!!!

Go on dates, find a girl for yourself and teach her to play, boom, you have a female gamer. Later, after you have dated and married her, you can do all those things married people do and make a few of your own, it's really the only surefire way.

My wife and daughter and my friends' wives and daughters all play, it's much easier than trolling the local game store asking, "so do you wanna come over to my house and play D&D?" And it's also less creepy. (And much safer to your ... ahem ... unmentionables.)

You could do what I did and marry one. We started dating back when I was 17 and she was 16. Been married 24 years now.

The only problem is that by this time, she knows all of my standard DM tricks!
