Advice on some feats?

Combat Brute or something similar (shocktrooper?) gave a *3 multiplier for Power Attack on charges...

Ranged combat: Doesn't really matter, you should do a healthy damage with a bow already.

Yikes, that's hideous!

Bow is OK - doesn't get used very often, got a properly sized composite version and works out ok when needed... The archery ranger/blood hunter, with his holy bow, seems to take care of a lot of it :)

This might be true, except that without Precise Shot he gains a -4 to attacks against foes in melee.

Then again, I suppose if the situation calls for a foe in melee, it would be him, and if the situation calls for him using a bow, it will be vs. a foe not in melee, so perhaps that's enough. :)

@Lord Pendragon:
Right. IME, Rapid Shot was always more important than Precise Shot, partially due to the pretty good to hit bonuses of the fighters and partially because noone was in melee with the opponent as you said ;)
D&D often features close range melee archers... IMC, these didn't occur too often (I prefer a little bit more realistic battles). The standard melee tank who has a bow also is either in melee or not ;)

I have the Klalmar Player's Guide and the Klalmar Campaign Setting Sourcebook. Are they detailed in one of those two, or a different book?
They are in Dangerous Denizens... :)

Well, originally I was imagining a scenario where the fighter is using a bow, and his target is in melee with one of his allies, not that the fighter himself would be in melee while using the bow. :p In such a circumstance, the fighter (without Precise Shot) would suck up a -4 to hit, because his target is in melee with an ally.

But then it occured to me that if the target can or should be engaged in melee by the party, the fighter would be the one doing it. The only time a fighter is going to use his bow in the first place is when the target can't be engaged in melee for whatever reason. So no need for Precise Shot. :p

that's very similar to what I had in my last homebrew. Had a thread about it ages ago and someone (pretty sure it was Buttercup?) came up with an idea that got called 'Borrowers' - Bigun and Littleun couples - mostly aranged halfling/human marriges - that couldn't breed, so tended to adopt half-X children. Group were suprised to find a proud halfling mother and her 4 half orc children
Consider this yoinked. I love it. It's a wonderfully rich addition to the core concept.
Half Dwarves are great - always liked them - ever since I saw the Mul from Dark Sun. I can imagine a spiked chain wielder left a lasting impression and perhaps a few scars?
Definitely. Creating guys like him is one of the fun parts of DMing. I didn't feel bad when he was eventually cut down. The looks on the players' faces when I first introduced him was worth it. :)
And a little side question: You can use light weapons in a grapple... wonder if that includes the Sunblade?
Oh my... I don't know where to even begin looking in the rules for clarification on that one, though my gut tells me "no", unfortunately. It can be wielded like a shortsword, but it's still as long as a bastard sword. I wouldn't hold it against you if you tried to slip it by your DM, though. :p
