(AEG) D20 Rokugan update

Dark Psion

First Post
Acording to a couple of sites the next books should be the long awaited "Secrets of the Clans" books. But I can't find anything about them on AEG's site (You really need to update that thing every now and then).

Anybody got any release dates, and order of the clans to be in the books??
The review area here has Scorpion
Pen & Paper has Lion, Scorpion, Unicorn & Crane
And Gamingreport has Mantis

All of them say "4th quarter" or winter release.

Hello there.

The next release is indeed Secrets of the Lion, which will be followed by Secrets of the Mantis, Secrets of the Phoenix (both in the can and coming along nicely), and Secrets of the Scorpion (which we're writing right now).

The last information I had, and please keep in mind that I am not involved with the shipping or distributing aspect of the business in any way shape or form, indicated that Secrets of the Lion would be shipping in early October. Unless something has changed, you can start looking for it on the shelves right about now. I'll keep an eye out for it myself when I'm there this week looking for a copy of Imperial Supply for Dragonstar! :)

I look forward to seeing what you guys think about the format we're using for the Secrets books. Be sure to let us know!

I hope these books will be the "Way of the Clans" books for D20. Those books are amone the few on my shelves that I occationally read just for reading pleasure.

One question, will we ever see a "Way of the Gaijin" to touch on the Burning Sands, Ivory Kingdoms and the invaders at the Battle of the White Stag?

I can't remember where i read it, but there seems to be a rather big manuscript 'out there' that deals with the Burning Sands. With 'out there' i mean either at WotC or AEG (damn i hate my failing memory, where did i read that!).

I would love a hardcover on that (in the same fashion as Rokugan), an Alquadim like setting would do well i would guess...

As I understand it, the possibility of an LBS supplement for L5R has been considered, but the final decision has not been made. There's plenty of time, of course, because we have to finish the Secrets series first, and that will put us probably in early 2004 before anything else sneaks out in the release schedule. Some discussion of the Burning Sands will be in Secrets of the Unicorn, however, so be on the lookout for that one later next year.

It's out there. It's here in the Twin Cities, and I've skimmed it. If I played in a L5R game, then I'd get it. Since I don't need it right now, I passed on it and pointed someone I knew who does play in such a game toward the book. I don't know if he bought it or not.

Just to cap off this thread, I'd be very interested in seeing what you think of Secrets of the Lion once you nab a copy. It's the first in a new series, and I'm eager to see how the format is received.
