AEG downsizing

Glad that I have done my part to support AEG - I have two copies of Spycraft 2.0, my first copy got water damaged, and is now my official loaner/travel copy. I intend to pick up WoF as well.

I do not have much interest in WoAL though. (However, I am considering converting the Swashbuckling Adventures stuff to SC2.0, it seems to fit much better than it does with D&D.)

I'm doing that as well - I already use Spycraft's action dice mechanice and v/wp. Nothing written down yet though.

Phill, just curious what can the RPG industry do to help itself, do you think?
I think some of the issue is a problem with the current economic climmet. With gas costs rising, people have less spare money, and often hobby/entertainment budgets are the first ones to be slashed. Not to mention that other costs have risen, and in general salaries are stagnent (So it's not wholely the gas issue, though I feel that's a big one).

Eventualy, as things turn around (I keep seeing some signs, but only some), people will have more spare cash, and well run companies will rebound. AEG aims to be one of them, and is attempting to stem off a hit by acting now. When things pick up, I'm sure they'll be hiring again, as will several other companies.

As for what the RPG industry can do to help itself? Lower cost products will help to compete for the gamer's streatched dollar, so things like PDFs which cost less for a company to make will likely be popular with some gamers. Also, value in a product will help as well.
