Against the Storm, ReRecruited Thread

OOC: At least I take it for that...

Meanwhile, the two women strike before the Talosans. The one with the gemmed staff takes a deep breath and blows on the tip of the staff. Sand flies out, and wisps around the Talosans like little mini sandstroms focused on each of them. Their skin becomes gaunt and flaky, and you hear them choking. The one with the dragon staffpoints it forward, blasting each of the Talosans with arcs of electrical energy. All the Talosans fall to the ground, sucked dry, practically into skeletons, and combusting in areas from the energy of the lightning.

Still using the silent conversation. I have no business with these two. I suppose, we can go on our own, or rather fly... I hope you can ride, my nameless friend?

Still in silence, she answers back "Sorry about that. Ines Orcfriend, at your service. Not really, but that's what I'm supposed to say, right? Riding I can do, but flying is a little beyond me!"

"What should we do about those that the guards took away?"
Ines mouths, shaking her head in a negative motion. She had no desire to go against those in the prison once more... but she had a hard time leaving them behind.

The drow speaks up:

"Now, now, didn't your magic teachers ever tell you that its rude to communicate telepathically in public? Care to share that with us?

I'm Irusyl Eraneth, and this is my student Wethrin. We've been tracking your vampire friends and their foppish allies for quite a while. There are many more where that came from. Howsabout you come back with us to somewhere quiet and we can discuss waht just happened. Besides (gesturing to Ines' and the two big bumps on her head), we can fix you up."

OOC: Still need to know, whether the 'vampires' left before or after Rahja's spell, since either there is no need to cast it, or Danilo and a prisoner was moved with her. I'll assume the first for now... (altho this means, that they appeared next to them, transformed into their vampiric selves, grabbed the still unconscious prisoners, overpowered Danilo and beat him unconscious (at least I suppose they also can only take voluntary targets with them) and teleported away, all before we could act. ;) But it's ok, we can leave it at that, I just wanted to share how it looks from my perspective. I'd hoped to get some more information from Danilo still, but that won't work then, I guess...)

At some point Rahja concentrates on her link to Danilo to find out what happens to him, if she couldn't get him out there, then at least he could provide some useful information. Maybe she can even get a clue about his current whereabouts.

Whispering to Ines. Well met then, Ines! I'm sorry, I have no means to free them again, even less to find out where they are, maybe these two have?

Speaking to the drow...

And your teacher obviously told you to share your thoughts with anyone you meet outside of a building in Skullport, where you just have been imprisoned by some guys working together with a bunch of daemons, to be sacrificed by some Talosans, and barely made it out alive, right?

Sorry for that, really, but you must understand, that while I don't think you mean any harm for us, we won't share anything with you right now. I don't know who these creatures were or who send them, and I'm not sure if I want to find out. But you two seem to be very powerful wizards, and these creatures seem to fear you, as there was noone else present they could have fled from. You did cast some impressive spells here. Have you any means to free the ones they took away now? I tried my best, but these creatures are beyond my powers. I cannot do anything else for them, I'm afraid... if you can, then please do so and free those innocent souls!

Anyways, if you want to talk, that's fine. But for now, I need to head back to Waterdeep. I have some unfinished business there which requires my immediate attention and I definitely need some rest. Maybe we can meet somewhere in the evening? Just name a time and a place in Waterdeep and I'll be there. Promise. That's the very least I can do for your timely appearance here, which at least helped us get away.

Rahja then casts Detect Magic and looks around, mainly scanning the area where the Talosans lie and the two wagons. She looks for anything, but especially for necromantic auras.

There must be something here... Danilo mentioned it, a weapon of sort... she whispers more to herself.

If there are some magical auras among the pile of dead, Rahja asks the two wizards. Do you need anything there? Would be a shame to leave it here, right?

Unless they object, Rahja will then pick up anything of value, put it to the stuff she had aquired earlier, and prepare herself to move off to Waterdeep.

OOC: Have to say I don't like being ignored... but such is life. Being small probably does not help either. Or maybe you missed my inquiries? Okay, if you did, then here they are again:
  1. So, the only ones there are the two females? Anyone else?
  2. What about the 10 guards and the cleric? That would leave a total of 13 talls for little Ines to be frightened of.
  3. What about the other side of the street? Anywhere to go?
[Sarcasm]I'd like to say I'm impressed with the vision of these two women who appearantly can see through the wagon to a halflings head, who's taken cover and is purposfully trying to remain out of sight. Not only did they see her, but the two bumps on her head, that must not be hidden by her black hair on her charcoaled skin. I just love it when my character can't do what she specializes in to the point where she might as well be standing under the woman, pulling back her hair and showing them her bruises ('See, this is where they hit me! Here, let me move closer to this light so you can trully see. Is that better?')[/sarcasm]

Okay, I feel better now, thanks!

Ines, cast detect magic on the two wemon to see what she can see of their arsonal.

Gah, I really blew this encounter on too many counts. The fact that everyone was blinking all over the place made it confusing. I will do better in the future...this is quite abnormal.

To clarify stuff...

1. Sorry that I origionally forgot that yo uguys DDs a bit away
2. The vampires are a custom sort (actually multiple sorts, six of one type, one of each of two other specialized ones). They have shodow travel abilities similar to shades, and it is a move action. The vamp-face thing has no mechanical effect and is a free action.
3. I missed that Ines was out of view, While the most powerful of the two women is in fact enormously powerful, she probasbly would not have seen Ines. She would, however, have seen invisible Rahja, and woiuld have detected that Rahja was engaging in short-range magical communication.

Ines, cast detect magic on the two wemon to see what she can see of their arsonal.[/QUOTE]

They have a w hole lots of magical items. Both are pbviously spellcasters. Their staves are very poweruflly magical. Their cloaks are not magical, but they have a plethora of magical jewelry, and both have a magical long sword by their side and a few magical daggers concealed on them.

OOC: Sorry for adding to the confusion, but it was the only useful thing, Rahja could try to escape with the prisoners (fighting was no option from the beginning, altho I don't think you expected us to get out there at all ;))... BTW, unless those vampires can actually follow her (I hope not, but who knows), they shouldn't have found her in the first place (the place they ended up probably wasn't in full view from the building considering the distance), oh well... ;) But hey, don't worry too much about that... would be nice, if you answered to my post above, tho. :) Rahja's course of action is already determined above.

[Ok, I seem to have my regular life back in order to an extent...Posts will become more frequent now]

The drow (hereafter Irusyl) looks at Rahja and smirks "A cautious one, aren't you? I like that. "

Irusyl turns to the human (hereafter Wethrin) " It seems like this girl and her invisible companion are taking advantage of our perceived benevolence by trying to meet on their turf, aren't they."

Wethrin answers "Yes ,yes they are. Fortunately this one is either a good judge of character or very, very, brave."

Irusyl turns back to Rahja. "I prefer to do my business in Skullport...The sun hurts my eyes. But if you insist, we can meet later tonight in a private room at the back of the Singing Mare in the Adventerers Quarter. Tell the proprietor, Hardin Havarin, your name and say that you wish to see James Hogarth, and you will be taken to the right place.

...or desperate, Rahja adds with a smirk.

Rahja nods, while turning visible.

OOC: Is that in Waterdeep or Skullport?

Once everything is said and the loot is taken care of (they didn't object, so Rahja takes everything of value the Talosans left), Rahja turns to Ines and casts some more spells... See Invisibility and Invisibility on the halfling, Invisibility and Polymorph on herself.

Before changing, Rahja says to Ines: Get on then and hold on tight, we are going fast. I want to leave this godforsaken place now... Turning to the two wizards: Good bye! See you tonight. Then she drops down on her hands and grows in size, her hair growing pale and large wings sprouting from her back, while she transforms into a Pegasus.

As soon as Ines jumps on her back, Rahja will move away from the building, taking off after a couple hundred feet, and then flies to Waterdeep full speed...

OOC: Could you answer that, please? She will do that as soon as possible after he left.
