Against the Storm, ReRecruited Thread

..., Rahja will cast silenced Dimension Door three times in rapid succession, taking the halfling with her and landing next to another prisoner, taking that one with them and landing next to yet another prisoner and finally moving full distance into the direction she has decided upon earlier.

Before heading back, she'll cast another Blink and Shield, just in case the guards have noticed the prisoners vanishing. She is still invisible and the other Dimension Door spells have all been cast silent.

She will then head back with another (now non-silenced) Dimension Door and land in one of the cells with the remaining two prisoners, then get the last one like above and finally fetch Danilo and move back to the place she had left the others at a few moments ago, using another three Dimension Door spells.

By the time she gets all but the last two prisoners to safety, she find that a guard is in the cell with one of the toher two. She manages to dim door away, to the next cell,. Instead of opening the door, the guard simply appears right behind Rahja and punches her accross the face, knocking her stunned to the ground (8dmg).

(Move-eq to get there special ability, stunning fist, blink miss chance hit. I should have emphacized that she only was out for the necessary number of hours to heal beyond negative from subdual. That would put her at the equivalent of 4, +16 for false life = 20...minus 8 for dmg this time).

The other guard in the other cell, who couldn't get to Rajha before she left, appears in the cell as well.

OOC: She was at the eq. of 4 hit points!? Not really a state to do heroics then (with the guards already there (I assume the door in the first cell was closed as well?), she wouldn't risk anything in her bad shape (she knows that the guards were pretty tough and would expect the second guard in the other cell, for obvious reasons) and use her first Dimension Door already to go to an unexpected place... her old cell, to fetch Danilo!). Oh, and doesn't Polymorph heal damage as if rested (don't have my books and can't check SRD from here (not at home) unfortunately, as it is stupid .rtf format ). BTW, she's still invisible (would've been another miss chance, as the guards - whatever they are, that they can teleport and act right afterwards, probably some of those vampiric blink dog demon breeds! - probably can't see her (at least they didn't act with her invisible in full view earlier when she was in the cell with the halfling, so it's reasonable to assume, that they still can't do that), it should even be hard to locate her for that attack in the first place, actually... but that hardly matters, as she would then act differently with the new situation coming up, anyways (see above)).

The second guy used the delay action before acting and got lucky one his multiple miss attempts and his 1 in 3 chance of getting the right square.

However, Polymorph grants th ehealing of one night's sleep, so it is true that all the subdual damage would have been gone.

OOC: Now you confuse me even more! The second guy, the one in the second cell or the first? You wrote up there, that the one in the second cell used a move action to get into the cell, so he can't be the one that delayed, right!? So you probably mean the one following into the other cell... Anyways, there shouldn't be many more stunning attacks coming now, only one per 4 levels (unless they are actually Monks ) and only 1 per round (this is still the same day, where Rahja and Ines got hit by them) and most of them will miss anyways. So, if Rahja is at full hit points, she should be good with her two 50% miss chances against them, they can't be that lucky all the time! So let's just continue there... I'll post her action for as soon as she can act again... Sorry for all the OOC and thanks for your patience!

Rahja casts Dimension Door on the defensive (automatic success, for a 4th level spell she only needs to roll a 1), touching both prisoners. Being prone doesn't matter much to her. She'll leave the cell and end up in her old cell next to Danilo, who is still waiting to be fetched.

Gah! I tohught I posted last night...and it didn't take. Ok, lesse, redoing it...

The guards glow and emit faint dark blue pulses of energy. Rahja turns back into a human from a pixie. Rahja touches the halfling and the last prisoner, and they wind up outside. Just then, a carriage races by, followed by a cage-cart. Both bear the holy symbol of Talos, goddess of plagues. A human woman on a black horse is chasing them from behind. She is wearing a blue cloak, and you see long blonde hair flowing out the edges of her hood. In one hand, she holds a gold staff with dragon heads carved on each end. The two horse-drawn vehicles stop suddenly outside the Excelsior Trading Company Building that you just left, as another owman on a black horse, this time a drow with a very long white-wood staff with a huge array of gems on top. Ten guards and a robed cleric get out of the vehicles and draw weapons. Eight guards from inside the building appear right behind you. The cleric says to the guards "TRAITORS!! DECIEVERS!!! You set us up!" One of the guards answers "INCOMPETANT FOOL, you led them here. <to the other guards> recover the prisoners." The Talosans face off against the two riders, who dismount and wave their staves.

Ines grabs her things, looking devious, and allows herself to be transported. color=orange] well, at lest I have my things.[/color] she thinks as she lands with the mage (she assumes).

Upon ariving outside and seeing the 13 people out to get them, Ines just rolls her eyes. "Can the day get any WORSE?!" Still feeling her jaw ach from the punch earlier and realizing she's not up to a fight, moves off to one side, looking for a way to get out of sight, or at least get some concealment. While moving, if she has time to reach her destination and cast Mage Armor, she will do so, otherwise, her main concern is to get out of sight to hide.

After arriving at the place, where Rahja had left the halfling and the first two prisoners, a second time, she tells her (note: she's still invisible): We need to awaken the others and get out of here fast or at least out of sight for now! My spells are almost depleted, I can't bring us any further from here.

Rahja orders Danilo to help getting the other four prisoners awake, so they can move into a better hiding place, thereby keeping an eye on the scene happening before the building.

Meanwhile she sorts out the halfling's stuff after asking her, what she's missing, and hands it over. She will be much more of a help with her magical toys. Here, that should be yours then! By the way, I'm Rahja.

If Melchior is still within range (he's on the way back to Waterdeep already to alarm the matron), she will update him with what happened for a more complete report.
