Age of Worms - Kudos

Our DM has just started running this for us, and so far it's a blast. Attention to detail is great, atmosphere is excellent, and it's well-balanced and well thought out. Great stuff!

I just finished reading "The Whispering Cairn" myself this morning. I'm kind of late but Ive been rather busy with the Shackled City campaign.
While the initial plot hook doesnt ease you into the adventure as well as the one in the Shackled City did, the adventure itself is "a work of art" IMO.
I loved the ancient tomb exploration feel which also reminded me of greats like the Tomb of Horrors and Mud Sorcerer's Tomb. I had also almost completely forgotten about the obscure Wind Dukes, The Rod of Seven Parts, etc. It's nice to see references to another great adventure of old.
Diamond Lake looks like it will be great, and best of all, different setting. I like its corrupt slant.

Overall, I have to say this is an excellent beginning to a potentially great campaign. The pacing is perfect. Im glad we didnt get flooded with a too many NPCs from the start, I'm sure we have yet to meet many more great personalities in future installments.

Erik (if you read this)... A truly outstanding low level module and campaign starter. Im definately looking forward to more Dungeon adventures from you, be it "Age of Worms" or not. Life as an editor may be too busy, but any more adventures from you would be very well received by the looks of it.

Count me among those in love with this first chapter. I'm going to start running it next week, placing it in Eberron. 'The Whispering Cairn' had me smiling evilly, a smile I haven't had since Maure Castle.

One question, though: how much of the backstory should the PCs know? I'm still unclear whether or not PCs would be familiar with the story, living so close to the cairns, or is this something to be kept from the players until later down the Adventure Path?

I started running it before I planned to, because of a dumb TPK in my last game, and I love it. I love the makeup of the party my players made as well. I pretty much started them right into the Cairn. This week I hope to let them "meet" some of the locals of Diamond Lake. In 4 hours, I'd say we got done a quarter of the adventure. We'll see tomorrow how far they get. I'll let you know.

BTW the Party ( I forget the character names, so we'll list the players )

John: Grey Elf Wizard, apprentice to Allustan
Dave: Halfling Bard, performs nightly in the Spinning Giant
Monica: Only female Cleric of Heironius, also aspires to Paladinhood
Mike: Elven Hexblade, one of Elluvial Moonmeadows foremen

They all have reasons for wanting to ditch life in Diamond Lake, and move to the "big city"
