The scribes sit for the next hour while George and Col. Hassan dictate to them exactly what is to be written out. Six copies are prepared, three in English and three in Arabic, so that each party will have them in both languages.
George and Hassan make sure all their concerns are spelled out exactly as they want and George ensures that the two translations are identical in both tone and language. Once Hassan and George are satisfied, they send for the British, the Rebels and the Queen.
