I asked Gemini PC species inspired in Spanish legends, myths and folklore.
1. The Trasgu (Woodland/Home Goblin)
Inspired by Asturian and Cantabrian folklore.
They are not simply "gnomes"; they are spirits of domestic chaos and nature, known for their pierced left hand and red cap.
Species Trait -
Pierced Hand: You have advantage on saving throws to free yourself from the Grappled condition or to prevent an object from being snatched from you, as they always seem to slip through your fingers.
Trasgu's Trick: You know the Hand of Mage cantrip. When you cast it, your hand is invisible.
Erratic Agility: You can move through the space of any creature larger than yourself.
2. The Nuberu (Weather Lords)
Based on the myth of the Nuberu, the giant who controls storms. In D&D, they could be a species of burly humanoids with elemental affinity, similar to the Genasi but with a more rustic and temperamental connection.
Species Trait -
Storm Sense: You have resistance to Lightning damage.
Fog Walker: Once per long rest, you can cast the Fog Cloud spell without expending spell slots.
Voice of Thunder: You have proficiency in the Intimidation skill.
3. The Lamias (Or Juna/Anjana)
Inspired by creatures from Basque and Cantabrian folklore with duck or chicken feet, who dwell near springs and rivers. They are guardians of nature and possess golden combs.
Species Trait -
Amphibious: You can breathe both air and water, and your swimming speed is equal to your walking speed.
Grace of the Source: You know the Guidance cantrip. At 3rd level, you can cast Charm Person once per long rest.
Ground Connection: You have the ability to detect deposits of gold or precious stones within a 30-foot radius, though not their exact quantity.
4. The Guanches (Inspired by the "Bimbaches" or ancient Canarians)
Based on the aboriginal mythology of the Canary Islands, especially their physical resilience and ability to communicate over long distances.
Species Trait -
Shepherd's Leap: Your long jump and high jump distances are increased by 5 feet. Additionally, you take no fall damage if the height is 20 feet or less.
Tactical Whistle: You can communicate with allies who know this "whistling language" up to 500 feet away, even without line of sight, as long as sound can travel.
Obsidian Hide: Your natural AC is 13 + your Dexterity modifier when you are not wearing armor.
