Alchemy question

I do not have my books on me, so these may seem overly simple

1st: how much does it cost to id a potion and what is the dc, is this still an option in 3.5?

2nd: in strongholds, what type of alchemy rooms are there, how much $, and how much space?

3rd: other then to id a potion and make alchemy items, was there another application / thing they could test ever listed?

1gp per attempt (or 20gp to take 20), DC 25.

is this still an option in 3.5?

Not as far as I can tell, though I might have missed it.

Magic Laboratory, basic and luxury. Basic is 1 stronghold space and 500 gp. Luxury is also 1 stronghold space but is 3,000 gp, and it requires one apprentice.

3rd: other then to id a potion and make alchemy items, was there another application / thing they could test ever listed?

In 3.0, you could do the following...

—Identify substance
—Identify poison (after casting detect poison)

I thought that the alchemy lab was different from the magic lab, the magic lab being the one used to make new magic items?

Oh crap...you're right. Here...

Basic, 1 ss, 700 gp; Fancy, 1 ss, 3,000 gp, one alchemist.

Identifying potions is now under Spellcraft...

It amazes me how nobody in my group ever uses the "taste test" method though.

tome and bllod has a section on alchemy and there are other things you can make with it.

I can ony remember a few off hand. There is a healing salve, and things like tindertwigs, etc. The DCs are listed there as well.
