Spoilers Alien: Earth Spoiler Thread

But, I'm curious, if it's not bad writing, then how do you explain the latter? The series has repeatedly shown us that the hybrids can handle carrying a human as if it is nothing. Did, I dunno, a servo break in his hip ot something?
Have we seen these two boys in particular exhibit super-strength? From how they've talked about Wendy and how they had to manually retune her hearing, it seems like they're all bespoke units. But if that's the case, they certainly should have probably made that clearer than I think that they have.

It's bad writing when it is done or the sake of plot
Huh? Everything is for the sake of a plot. That’s literally what a plot is—the story being told in the show.

I think you might have to just accept that nearly everybody thinks this show is excellent. You don’t.

But you personally not liking something doesn’t make it bad writing or the creators lazy writers. Objectively proclaiming a subjective thing to be bad is… ironically… lazy.

I think Wendy is very different to the other hybrids, but that’s a revelation for the last episode.

I would really love some explanation as to why she could hear the xenomorphs and the other children couldn't.

Speaking of the last episode, I'm now thinking of revising down the "near-total/total wipeout" of the characters. Given the pacing and trying to give everyone their due in terms of how they will "exit" the show, I'm thinking at least half if not more of the current characters will be present at the start of season 2. BK I'm 50/50 on surviving depending on who they pick as a host for Octo-Eye. Morrow and Kirsh I'm now thinking will both live to see another season and continue their conflict. And I'm guessing a number of the hybrids will make it as well. There is just no time in the single remaining episode that they can wrap up all of the character plots on Neverland.

Shoot, we still haven't seen Schroedinger's Plant strike yet!

Lastly, I was trying to go through everyone we've seen in Neverland that could be the potential "one" that BK decides he wants to use as the host for Octo-Eye. I can only come up with Dame Silva and Hermit. And Dame Silva keeps the hybrids running so...

My first thought was that he was thinking Arthur who said "no" which would lead to BK's frustration in that he was beaten to the punch in using him as an alien host medium.

Hermit already gifted a lung to another experiment (which seemed like a completely healthy lung to me and not something that medically needed to be taken out of Hermit). BK could be thinking he is the gift that keeps on giving, but that would seem to blow things up with Wendy too predictably for no real reason and I don't really see him as being specifically pissed enough at Hermit or Wendy until he finds out about the jailbreak attempt. But then I didn't think they would unnecessarily harvest a lung from Wendy's brother just to provide a growing medium for a xenomorph.

If it's not Dame Silva, it's whatever actor they've cast as a lead for next season, similar to the ending of Squid Game.

We did see Nibs rip the jaw off a person and do that threatening super quick move on the doctor.

I think they all have the super strength and speed stuff, but I think Wendy is the most comfortable with it and has explored it the most.
Though, to be fair, Nibs has been shown to be rejecting her new body, so the control isn't there.

I felt like I was clear that I was discussing plot contrivances - when story logic and consistency goes out the window in service of specific plot point that the writer wants to get to by hook or by crook.

Yes, that's what opinions are.

Am I expected to add "art is subjective and this is my opinion" at the end of every sentence? Am I being lazy by not doing so? My bad, I guess.
