All about cults...

Using the Cultist template from above, allow Cultists to form a Hivemind. Now they've got a really good reason to gather more Cultists.

Ecstatic Cult Ritual
By submerging the will of 10 or more Cultists, you gain some sort of benefit, depending on who you are.
All cultists aside from the Leader are called Celebrants, and they are Stunned for the duration.

A Fiendish Leader gains one or more of the following:
- SR +1/8 celebrants
- Spell-like ability caster level +1/12 celebrants (for all SLAs)
- One more use of a spell-like ability (requires spell level squared in celebrants)
- Fast Healing +1/20 celebrants

A Spellcaster Leader gains one or more of the following:
- I dunno, steal some stuff from what Red Wizards get?

Some Other Leader gains:
- An Action Point per 10 celebrants.

In some respects, what you are discussing was very well covered in 2nd and 3rd edition Runequest's Glorantha. I would suggest that about 80% of your work has been done in books like Cults of Terror, Cults of Prax, etc.

Mongoose's OGL Horror has some rules for running cults and other organizations that fit a lot of Eric's original criteria. I don't recommend buying it, but that part of the book was good...

We just released a product (Pulp Villains - THUGEE, link in my sig) which features the Open Content organization rules from OGL Horror, expanded with a new add-on that allows GMs to further customize cults with an adjective-based system of Descriptors which give further bonuses and penalties to the group.

NEAT! Does it contain the whole set of Organization rules from OGL Horror? If so, I could get rid of OGL Horror! Awesome!

Yes, it contains the entire open-content rules (minus the sample organizations, which really didn't fit in a book on cults), plus the new Cult Descriptor system that adds to it.

Sweet. I think you'll have 6.5 of my dollars very shortly...
