10P damage base is pretty standard, same as an AK (the gun that messed up Lum). I mean, Faust's two 7P damage guns did more damage that last round than the drone did so I think it all balances out pretty well. What makes the Monsoon impressive is its mammoth ammo capacity.

The main downside is that the drone isn't really equipped to handle the monster's recoil.

I didn't know anything about recoil when I picked it and thought drones negated more recoil than they do. I've since read up on it and am thinking Lum should make some modifications if he survives. Or, taking a different simple action would negate built up recoil, wouldn't it? I'm not sure what actions qualify for that, though.

Yeah, pausing firing negates accumulated recoil. You could also mod the weapon with more recoil suppression gear if you haven't already maxed it out. The rigger book might have other ways to help handle it...I'll take a look.

I feel like a mounted weapon might also have less recoil...but I'm not sure that applies to a weapon mount on a little helicopter drone. It'd be more like a fixed emplacement. I'll poke my nose into that too.

Just from memory, drones act as a stable surface and provide recoil suppression (or whatever it's called) equal to their body plus whatever other recoil suppression they have. Lum's drone doesn't have any other because I didn't think about it at the time I was working on that part of his character. I'll probably add a gas vent system if possible later. I think it would help a lot if he has to go full auto or use suppressive fire.

Yeah, as we've seen, those are pretty devastating. :)

Hey, Till...is Otter still getting a continuing feed through the commlinks? Has she any idea what's going on in Meat-topia?

She'd hear everything Lunchmeat's been shouting and lots and lots of gunfire.

And yeah, it wouldn't be too hard to improve the drone's recoil compensation. Add a shock pad and a gas vent system to the weapon - though keep in mind that it has a base recoil of 2 that I'd forgotten to add each time it shot. Still, it would be manageable if it fired in semi auto mode. It went full auto against pig mask because he was in cover and full auto brought his defense dice down considerably. As we saw with cyberarms, semi auto can still rack up the kills.
