My players are running through Keep On The Shadowfell. After browsing Scepter Tower of Spellguard and Rift of the Umbraforge (latest Dungeon), I've decided to link them together into a plot of the PCs preventing an invasion from the Shadowfell.
KotS - I'll remove the Underpriest and put the Dark Creeper in his place. The Dark Creeper will be from those in the Spellguard, and is there in false pretenses, with orders to help Kalarel open the rift, but hijack it from an Orcus shrine to the Umbraforge, setting the Keep as a beachhead for an invasion.
The PCs will find it odd that a Dark Creeper, who usually follows the Raven Queen, is helping the RQ's biggest rival, Orcus. A skill challenge later, they decide to head to the Spellguard to investigate what the Creepers there are doing. The adveture proceeds as scripted, and info is gathered that weapons are coming from the Umbraforge.
The campaign will wrap its Heroic tier with the Dungeon adventure Heathen. Instead of a demonic cult, the Heathen will lead a Shadow cult.
