Am I too funny to Dm?

Nightfall

Sage of the Scarred Lands
Well another weekend down, and all we did is play around with NWN. (Good game folks!) I just begin to wonder if we'll EVER campaign. I have more character sheets than I do memories OF campaigns. So again I make the suggestion of me running and I got this funny answer "Well Blaine as much as we like your stuff, we just don't take you seriously." So now I'm a little confused...is it because they don't take ANYTHING seriously, or is just they don't take me seriously? I ask that because even when I don't run they tend to do just silly things because they think it will be fun...and then they don't care. So what should I do?

Generally? I try to be free-form but I do keep the plot in mind. Also it helps if I know where I'm playing, meaning in the Scarred Lands, I got that down pat. FR, well I know it well but I will admit, throw me into Vassa and/or the Rashemai, I'm a little lost.

Other than that I enjoy some dungeon crawls, intrigue and wilderness encounters. Other than that, not much else, though like I said, if I run a city type campaign, I'd prefer to it be in a city I know.

Translation:

Now I don't exactly know you, or them, so this is shooting from the hip:

"You're a nice guy, but kind of a flake. No, offense."

It's all good. I'm a bit of a flake, and I run pretty good games. Or maybe I should add delusional to the list.

Well don't know about FLAKE, but I am a little out there. ;)

Psion, wel I would...if I thought it would do any good. Last time I tried to, they ended up getting mad because my home made monster ripped one to shreds and only one died. They were still upset about that.

Well thanks guys. You've given my Dm ego a boost. That means. Rappen Athuk and Tomb are up. If those don't kill them, then I'm doing Banewarrens! :)

Eh, with the Scarred Lands as your campaign world, you ought to be able to be taken seriously if you're not a total clown (which I don't think you are, BTW). :)

One would think that...Unfortunately they don't care for the Scarred Lands or as they call them "The Black Book of Sickness"
