Am I Unreasonable?

Reasonable. He requested a spellbook, and the same was delivered to him. The demon even went to the trouble of making sure there were no traps in this book. The fact that there are some rather rare (I assume) spells in there he could make scrolls of and sell is gravy. :)

Ahh, good, good. I didn't think I was being unreasonable to begin with.. and really, once I typed it out, it seemed even more reasonable, so there we go.

I suppose he could use the evil spells, but he should really make sure the rest of the party never finds out, heh.

Not at all unreasonable. In fact, I think it was a significant clue as to what will happen, as an outsider in servitude usually follows to the letter of the law and brings back the worst thing possible. Like a blank spellbook with hundreds of save or die traps on it...

Personally I'd say the PC deserves what he gets if he sent out a demon to fetch him a new spellbook. You see that spellbook had to come from somewhere, so I imagine theft was involved in the very least if not bloody murder. Of course these are the things that come of greed, I'd say he's already well on that path to corruption.

Ahhh, Oni you sneaky fellow. Yep, the demon went and killed one of the PC wizard's acquaintances to get the book, and even framed the wizard while he was there. Framed as in, made it look like Clayton did it personally. So I figure the now-dead victim wizard's family might send someone after Clayton or something, haven't decided yet.

Wheee

I don't think you are being at all unreasonable. Of course I also don't think the PC should know in the beginning what all of the spells are. I say let him research them and uncover the secrets. Maybe the first few that he discovers are benign enough (if a bit on the twisted side) and the more he uncovers the darker the spells get.....

How bad does he want the power?

But that's just me and I'm sick and twisted that way.

**singing softly** Oh how the mighty have fallen......

Nice idea.

Either the fiend got a "good" spellbook from a "good" wizard that died an horrible death at the hands of the fiend, or an evil spell book is brought up. I imagine the PC saying "Hey but that wizard was evil, evil I say
- So how do you know ?
- Well his spellbook is full of evil spells
- How did you get that information ???
- Oops. He did it (pointing his finger at his fiend friend)"

Bwahahahaha.

This is **good**. Very good.

My original comment to your first post was that, AFAIK, it's hard to corrupt PCs if their players don't want to play corrupted characters. OTOH, This is a **very** good use for a demon.

If you can't seduce 'em, break their arm, I always say. (Mostly to female friends discliplining their bf's, but it applies to Evil as well. (;

Cedric.
