Oh also there were other public tables ran in stores around here. Avatar I was the only one I knew of running a public game, until more recently, but that table gave up quickly.

Anecdotal, yes.
I backed the KS and have all the books, dice and other stuff. Haven't found a chance to play it, but my 8 year old is obsessed with The Last Airbender and is interested, so I think we'll make a go of it.

The mechanics are a bit dense and...lingo-y? Interested to see how it works in play, based on listening to live plays of other PbtA games.

The 2014 PHB is ranked 6695 out of all books on Amazon US. Also noted as selling 700+ books in the last month. What other RPG over ten years later has a core book that sells that well? Even on just Amazon?

OK, def Daggerheart is now selling in that ballpark, above that probably.

But that's kinda the point. It's probably the 2024 PHB, maybe the other two 2024 core, then Daggerheart (in some order), then the 2014 PHB. STILL even after it sold out everywhere.

That's kinda nuts. And Daggerhearts rank has RISEN!

didn't they change the category which made tracking harder? Also, there probably are a lot more direct sales now, and definitely more digital sales (50% or more by now), than there were during most of 5e's timeframe
Yeah, they recategotuzed the core books as toys...which seems to have been about limiting Amazon's undercutting FLGS (and WotC direct sales...) pricing.
