I paid $45 nzd in 1995 for 2E phb.
In 1996 friends rent for her room was $40 (dump but still).

I was looking through my 2e PHB the other the day and flipped it over to see what it cost back then (1996). Man if only that price stayed the same.

I mean, I've seen breakdowns of how the price has been at various points since 1979 adjusted for inflation, and in real terms it been quite stable from TSR to now.

As long as they are covering printing costs, it's just eking out the last little bit of profit from the long tail. It seems early to be clearing out the last print run when it's at a guess likely to be at least 6 months before the 2024 edition arrives.

Yeah, I'm certain they aren't selling at a loaa...but sooner rather than later, Amazon is going to sell out their last print run of these books. And they look to be going out with a bang.

I mean, the 2014 books get to.ride into the Sunset head held high rather than gasping for breath om the desert floor. That’s unheard of.
