Amulet of Undead Turning

fenzer

Librarian, Geologist, and Referee
Just a quick clearification please. The amulet grants a turning bonus in the form of a level adjustment to the cleric/paladin that wields it ranging from a +1 to +4.

Please explain to me how this adjustment is factored in to the turning process.

Do I add the adjustment to my cleric's level when I determine the level of undead (HD) I can effect? ie: my level plus or minus - determined by turning check.

Or is this adjustment added to the damage roll that determines the total number of undead (HD) I actually turn?

Or both?

Thanks.

It applies to both, but remember that a paladin needs to be able to turn undead (i.e. 3rd in 3.0, 4th in 3.5) to make use of the Amulet.

BTW: Am I blind or did they kill this off in 3.5?

Still there in 3.5 but its now a Phylactery rather than an Amulet. No changes to price or effects. I agree with Selganor that it would apply to both Turning rolls.

Both.
You are in respect to Turn Undead a cleric with a higher level.
All checks involving the cleric level are done at this higher level (only at Turn Undead).

BYE

Thanks everyone. I assumed that it applied to both but you know what happens when you assume. :)

Ya, I looked for it in the 3.5 SRD and couldn't find it. Thanks Descritad. I will look for the Phylactery of Undead Turning.
