Amusing Type-os (no bashing!)

While reading a certain gaming book tonight for the first time, I saw an amusing type-o.

" ... and soothe even the most savage breast."

:D

This had me on the floor laughing for quite a while.

Something tells me that the "r" was unintentionally put into that sentence :D

Leaving references to the actual title/product out of this, any other type-os/editing glitches that just changed the context of the statement to something equally amusing as above?

That is, discussing the humorous occurances of type-os and not a discussion of type-os as a phenomenon.

Anyone have one they want to share?

I would like to point out that the particular d20 book from which I took out the above partial quote is quickly becoming one of my favorite books - it may have this one type-o but my goodness the book has not yet ceased to amaze me with each page I turn.

Wow, what a faux pas. :) Yup, the "r" is correct; most people just misquote it. Odd, huh?

My favorite is the slaad/salad typo in Tome of Horrors.

Hey, which book was this in?

Amusing, yes, typo, no. :)

Music hath charms to soothe the savage breast,
To soften rocks, or bend a knotted oak.

WOW! Well I'll be darned! I have never heard that phrase spoken as such. It was always "...soothe the savage beast" -- guess you learn something new every day after all :)

Having said that, I guess the basis for the thread is still there -- anyone have any they found? :)

I guess the best ones will come from a spell-checker trying to "fix" a RPG word to its closest approximation found in the spell-checker's dictionary (thus you still get a real word in the sentence for the amusement).

The term for a mistake in something printed is "typo," which is short for "typographical error."

Pay no heed to my spelling of type-o, it was done on purpose. It is a running joke I have with someone else on the boards :)
