An Apology....

To all Enworlders here...

I wish to give my most humble apology to everyone, who felt the 'Babe' Poll was of poor taste. I am not the type of person who like to offend people, in either sex.

I thought in earnest, that I was doing something proper, but that is not the case with the situation that came about.

Althought, this was my first Con to go to, in twenty years of playing, I guess my overflowing zeal to capture all events has to be handled with care and forethought for the possible future, with the case of taking pictures at a event such as this.

My Apologies to Morrus( site owner, I am aware there are two people with the same last name) especially, in any shape, way or form, I did not realize that something like this will 'stain' the great standing and intergity of this site. That was never my intent from the start.

And my second Greatest apology to the Ennie Award presenter( the very nice young lady), if I made you uncomfortable with all this.

I am a very responsible person, if something like has to be pointed out, an error done, I will accept the mistakes and make adjustments.

Thank You.
Truth Seeker.

I remain blissfully ignorant of the 'Babe' poll in question (and many, many other things), but I think people would be hard-pressed not to recognize the sincerity inherent within your apology. We're a pretty diverse group on EN World, and it's a safe bet you'll tick off someone every once in a while. I ran into some of the same problems when my story hour delved a little bit too much into, ah, 'uncomfortable gore'. From that experience, I know how you can sometimes feel like a "man on an island" with everyone's guns pointed at you - and felt like I should chime in to say - "Cheer up, little camper, it ain't all doom and gloom." I wish I could be more helpful.

I think there's far more sinister things that have occurred on these boards. We've had a publisher threatening a reviewer and demanding he pull down an unfavorable review. We've heard about a guy who covertly spied on emails from other members of a professional organization. In light of those tales, I think your "mistake" pales in comparison.

Let me be the first to offer my own pic for a "Guy-Babes at GenCon" should you venture out of hiding in the near future.

Now...if I don't win said poll, then I will be upset with you.

Truth Seeker, apologies go miles with anyone offended, in my experience. It's a sign of what an cool person you are.

Well, while your apology seems sincere, I'm not sure that there was much to be offended about. Other than Buttercup writing that she suspected that the Ennies presenter *might* have been offended, I never saw any evidence thereof. And I should know - she's a friend of mine.

The poll in itself seemed to have been created in the highest of taste, and was a far cry from tainting the prestige and high-class of this board.

While apologizing is, of course, the safest course of action, I just wanted you to know that there was not some enormous outcry at your poll that *I* noticed.

Seems harmless to me.

Thanks Destan, but I will not be hiding in some corner anytime soon, at my age, it is just not possible...LOL.

As for boundaries, I am aware of the history of these boards for quite some time, and try very much to stay out of the tangle webs that are weaved here. For the Diverse part, yes, meeting a decent chunk of EnWorlders at the Con, was great proof of that. That it is a everybody's game, not just for guys anymore.

As for a 'Best Guy' poll, I will need more memory sticks, to be equal across the board, you know how guys are, with their vanity and all...LOL:lol: .

Again, thanks for the support, as for a 'mistake' has been made, I am human enough to see it, and admit.

Thanks...I am was aiming for a neutral feel...I have seen different 'babe' polls in other forums...which to me lack...a certain taste. But then again, everyone has a different view on things...it is the nature of being human.

The only apology that I request is for having written this text in deep red over a black background. It hurts my eyes while trying to read through it...

As for the "babes"... pfff....

Apology Accepted, Captain Needa

I, for one, do not accept your apology, because you didn't apologize for what I was upset about - which is that I DIDN'T GET TO SEE THE PRETTY PICTURES!!!!

Therefore, I would like a more thorough, illustrated apology, in which you show each of the offending pictures, and explain why it was wrong to have shown them in the first place, individually.

Thank you.
