An EN World newsletter?

I think that stretches my talents (or lack of) a bit too far!

Podcasting (in general) is an area in which I am interested in developing some new skills. Mostly for my professional interests. But maybe I could practice with some EN World stuff? Hmm. Let me ponder...

I'm not sure a newsletter would be worthwhile enough to justify the work required. Speaking for myself, even during periods when I don't have time to follow the related discussions on the messageboards, checking the news every few days doesn't take much time at all.

The main use of a newsletter that I can see would be to catch the news items after they move off the front page. Is there a way to just archive the news postings by date and have a simple way to navigate to them? Would it be less work than creating a weekly or monthly newsletter?

Personally I don't see much need for it, but I am a regular visitor (probably a little too often) so I catch the news within a day or two at most.

Thanks for the RSS suggestions, folks - but I'd like to point out that we've had one for about 7 years! There's a "Syndication" link at the bottom of each page.

You may want to promote them using a "link" tag in the main page's header:

<link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="EN World News Feed" href="URL/path/name.xml">

That will make your syndication more findable, and it doesn't really cost you anything.

Using one of the RSS web buttons publicly available might help, too. That little orange image is pretty recognizable...

Yeah, but doesn't that feed every update to you as it happens? That's too much email for me.

A nice monthly compilation of the top news, however, would be awesome!

I travel a lot for work and am away from a computer for weeks or months at a time; I'm always wondering what I've missed out on, but I don't have the time to wade through six weeks of archives...

I'm here almost everyday, but usually straight into the Forums, so I still miss News items sometimes.

What about an email newsletter with just Headlines and links back to the site?

Would not do much for offline reading/content, but might drive site traffic for those out of the loop. Would need a subscription opt-out, but otherwise could hit every user with an account (and still valid email address).
