An Urban Druid...Any ideas?

Kaodi, the way I understand it is that the metal of the Warforged's basic body is its "natural" form, while Mithril or Adamantine Body Feats are "add-ons" of some kind.

For further inspiration, check out the last 1/2 hour of Miyazaki's Castle in the Sky (don't know the Japanese name). When you said Warforged druid, the first image that popped into my head was the ancient castle caretakers in that movie.

Warrior Poet

P.S. It's also just a darn great movie.

BTW: I know there is no official ruling on this but, given that a warforged retains it's armour and construct properties in wildshape, do they turn into construct animals? 'cause that would look cool...

I had already thought of that... Yes, the wildshaped creatures, while having the regular stats of the creature, will be of the construct type, and there will be noticable metal and stone in the creatures makeup. I thought that was cool, too.

Perhaps cool, but a disadvantage overall. If a warforged druid does not, in fact, become and animal when wildshaped, it will not be eligible for the animal growth spell. And you lose out on a lot of scouting/sneaking opportunities. A regular cow will be overlooked, a construct cow would attract a lot of attention.

Officially, a warforged wildshaped does NOT become a construct-type critter. As Keith Baker put it in the Keith Baker FAQ over at WotC:

"He gets to be a real boy."

Yeah, guys, I get the pigeon reference...funny stuff.

But pigeons aren't the end-all be- all of the aerial animal world. Even for poop.

Bat: Agile, sonar, & Guano- sticky and lots of potassium & ammonia. Disgusting + some of the raw materials for making gunpowder... Alchemy anyone?

And if you REALLY want poop, take a raptor of any kind. Ever have a Condor or large Vulture crap on your car? Lots of it + Stinks worse than you can imagine + It. Just. Doesn't. Come. Off.

And what about things like flying squirrels- or better yet, a flying snake?

Urban reptiles include anoles (aka American Chameleons) and geckos.

Yeah. I can see why, to do so pretty much robs the druid of his mastery of the inconspicuous. OTOH turning into mechanimals is just cool. If you were to offer construct animal forms to a Warforged druid how would you compensate him for the loss?

As for visuals, the body of a warforged has not only metal, but also wood and stone. I'd add leaves and tiny branches to the wooden parts and moss all over the stony parts.

That is bloody cool. Like a Warforged blending into a japanese garden. Hmmm... It there any particular reason a warforged could not be painted? Not perhaps for a druid, but one with bright green enamel and highlighting....
