Anatomy of an Apocalypse

It is a decent attempt on what is a very needed article. Sure as others said it doesn't have much literary merit and has a few bad cliches but I think this is what the FR community really needs. WotC and Richard Baker simply do not have the time to provide a detailed account of the events that led to the Spellplague, not to mention those that followed. If some of the more experienced FR writers made an attempt to provide such detail, it would be a godsend, but I am certain that the NDAs are too tight to really allow that.

I for one hope that about a year in 4E we get a Forge of War like accessory for FR that details exactly what happened and provides hooks for campaigns happening during the Spellplague. I'd even expect it to sell well.

Thanks, I appreciate that. Honestly, at this stage in my life, I'm not too worried about being a hack. My dreams of being a professional designer died long, long ago (and that's not said with any kind of melancholy or longing, but rather, I think that's a natural phase that a lot of high school age DMs harbor in lieu of a real job, until they grow up and realize that we need to get a real job and D&D is going to remain a hobby to us).

And trust me, I'm measuring my removal from those dreams in decades now, whether I like it or not . . . ;)

Now stop being a hack and admit your real age.... all 12 years of it ...with pimples

okay, I've seen pictures of you for real, so I know better. But I thought the article was good for something to explain what was going on.
