Angel 4/23 - Spoilers

Hey, bring on the swath of dead innocents. Works for me. I would love to see the effect and backlash on that one. I do think it could be done and Team Joss is capable of it (see the ep of the building full of murdered W&H folks).

I just realized how great of a setup they have for the next show with the ending of this one. Not that I didn't get it at the time but I forgot that the big fight scene in the end (which we didn't get to see the end of because of said creepy scene of Jaz) won't just end. There will be a world of hurt waiting for Gunn, Wes, Lorne and Fred when we them next...

Yup. Can't wait. Even without the swath of dead they'll be knee deep in ummm, new issues {as well as a few choice old ones...}.

I wonder if everyone who appreciates drama is a bit of a sadist at heart... I'm pretty sure everyone who writes the stuff is.

Personally, I think last night's episode and one of the one's with Faith in it were the only good ones all season (with a few highlights in otherwise weak episodes).

Angel has been pretty lame since halfway through last season - last season started out amazingly, with Holtz and the baby and all that - but Connor coming back an adult kind of ruined it - and the whole Cordelia ascending thing (even though they've "explained" it) left a bad taste in my mouth.

Again and again, I have seen some great ideas on this show, but then they just take them in limited and predictable directions - for example Wolfram & Hart was just driven into the ground and finally just destroyed as an afterthought - when some really devious things could have been done with them ( i have one particularly great theory I could share) and Angelus' return was just awful and a pointless venture. . . a whole episode that was basically a dream? Also very lame (I figured people who ever saw Dallas would have learned their lesson).

The good things this season:

- Gunn & Fred's relationship disentegrating b/c of the murder
- Wes & Lailah's freaky relationship
- The gunn/fred/wes triangle
- Zombies, zombies. zombies at Wolfram & Hart
- Connor not being effected by the blood
- Faith's return
- Willow's appearance
- The flesh magic and the scorpion demon thing
- Jasmine talking through others (very creepy)

I just wish that Darla's appearance was really the First doing a cross-over from Buffy trying to stop Connor from releasing some competeing Big Bad. ;)

Eh. Different powers, and different weaknesses. Glory could be killed as Ben; Jasmine's weakness is her true name. But I think Glory would probably win a fight between the two of them; she had a lot more physical power, and I can't think Jasmine's mind control juju would work on her.

No I don't think it would either. Jasmine's power probably only works on mortals. (Or at least those that are fairly close to mortal or have souls.) Thus in a fight between the two, Glory would certainly wail down Jasmine with out too much trouble.

My vote would be for Jasmine to win. Glory was powerful, but pretty dense. Jasmine is far smarter and plays the deep game. In a straight face-to-face battle, it looks like Jasmine would lose. But let's not forget, a few weeks ago we called Jasmine something very different: 'the beastmaster'. The more time passes, the more powerful she's becoming. We don't know yet what her upper limits are.

We also don't know what killing Jasmine will actually do. I'm not so sure that destroying her current vessel is such a great idea...remember the shadow of that Cthulu-like horror we saw? Could be Jasmine's native form can't survive here...could also be that once she has power, she can abandon it.

Be fun to see what happens. :D

What? what was this? I missed it?
anyway it was another great episode. The whole truename and the flesh/blood magic thing was quite interesting...reminded me of the move Jeepers Creepers a bit.
However I guess maybe this means Jasmine isnt the first?

This was when 'Jasmine' was born. In the bright light, as she was appearing, you could see lots of tentacles swirling in the mass, most likely something closer to her true form, if she actually has one. The more I think about it, the more I think she's a Cthulu like being, but that's me.

Another decent episode.... I hope they don't cancel this show.

One thing though: I can't really understand why Angel would say, "I'm not leaving here without my son" one second, and then beat the hell out of Connor and throw him out the window. Why did he do that again? Not that I'm complaining... Connor's got to die.
