Angel Season Finale (Spoilers)

I loved the episode. I thought it was pretty good for a finale, although not in the typical cliff-hanger way.

Yes, the limo was driving on the wrong side of the road. Just reverse the footage and they're magically back in America. :)

I liked the Connor ending. I certainly didn't see it coming, but it was well done. I was glad that his character got something better than the short end of the stick for once.

Can anyone give a link to any rumors about main characters dying? They're not about to kill of Cordie, sorry. The coma was just a way to give Charisma Carpenter some maternity leave, and I'm sure she'll be back.

And what's not to love about Wolfram and Hart? I think it's way cool, it adds a new layer to the story line and gives them some new mysteries to unravel - first one being what was up with Gunn. I was surprised to see him in there, as I never knew of him to be 'searching for answers', as it were.

I think that next season has a lot of potential to be rilly rilly fun.

Hey, if you are promising spoilers, maybe someone could make a short description of what happened? :)

I will have to wait probably a year until I will see this season, but since I read most spoilers so far (no willpower to resist), I want to know the end. :)

The D&D comment was pretty funny, but the funnier thing is that that was the vamp (well, the actor who played the vamp) whom Buffy dusts in Conversations with Dead People. Whoops...

No, that's his twin brother.

I'm not kidding.

I have to seriously ask... are you kidding? Because I thought he looked different, but I chalked it up to the makeup differences between a vampire and a supergeek. I actually wouldn't be surprised if you weren't just yankin my chain.

In regards to the rumor I heard, apparently ALL the Slayer go dormant until 2012. Then all hell breaks loose and the Second Darkness of Mankind begins. But if you heard something different wouldn't surprise me.

Ah, that sounds like history from Fray, the comic book about a Slayer in the future, written by Joss himself. Actually, I was referring to Spike, who would be another superhuman champion still around, assuming he survives the Buffy finale. And don't forget Gwen, although she's not exactly a champion (unless she joins Angel, which would be great).

I hope that is not a Buffy finale spoiler of any kind...

If it is what I think it is (i.e., from Fray), then it's not a traditional spoiler. It's more like a spoiler for Enterprise from knowing TNG history. Readers of Fray (not myself) know a bit about history of the Slayers, and from what I read, the last Slayer was in the 21st Century. It's not clear, though, whether that was Buffy or Faith (or someone else, even). The super-weapon that Buffy just found is also apparently from the comic.

This was weeks ago at Dark Horizons, so the only way to find the link would be to wade through their archives. But David may have just been giving a bit of misinformation, to keep us off-guard.

I read, on another board (Cross and steak?), That the Powers that be...Joss and co....were so impressed by that actors performance (In conversations) they wanted to keep him around. So they made up a twin brother. If Angel gets picked up next year, he'll be a recurring character.

Well, you and I have always split on Wolfram and Hart. They come off as too 'typical powerful corporate enemy', to me. I get a little tired of the endless resources and the fact that W&H never seems to actually run into significant difficulties. To me, it sort of diminshes everything that AI accomplishes when W&H just bounces back as if nothing happened.

I like the development, but I just keep thinking to myself "Don't these people ever learn?" I know some of them actually think they'll be able to do good in spite of W&H, but don't they realize that they're on the slow path to Hell, with little concessions the whole way? Mind you, in retrospect, it's pretty obvious that none of them are exactly wide-eyed innocents, here. Wes is a kidnapper (twice), Fred a would-be murderer, Gunn is one and Angel...well, you get my point.

I guess it should be interesting, see a NG group trying to work in the framework of a LE organization. Last year, I thought that the show was going to be terrible this year, especially with Wes being a redux of already covered material. Boy, was I wrong. With that in mind, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

I enjoyed the show, though it reminded me just how much I hate season finales.. damn those cliffhangers, have to wait soooo long now to find out whats going on. :( Assuming its even renewed!

For the first time, I truly felt sorry for Connor.. I enjoyed his presence on the finale and the sad/happy way in which it ended, though I think the director spent a bit too much time "rotating" around his new family life - it didn't take long to get the point.

Now I'm confused by the whole W&H thing. Why would they leave? They were killed off by the Beast as a step toward Jasmine eliminating chaos in the world, and establishing herself as the kingpin. But the Beast and Jasmine are both dead now. Why wouldn't they just go back to doing what they used to do? Or are they trying to say that everything they did up until now was to try to prevent Jasmine from creating world peace?

Anyways, other comments. This episode reminded me of how much I love Wes as a character. He has developed so so far from his watcher geek persona. The dynamic between him and Lila is great and very well pulled off by bother characters. I'd have to say that scene in the filing room was my favorite of the episode.

Anyways thats a lot of rambling. It'll be interesting to see Angel on Buffy next week. Though again, I wonder why W&H would want to help him, unless the first evil is another enemy of W&H.

Before I go... :) just had another thought. Perhaps the senior partners are sort of new kids in town, relatively speaking. It seems that there are far older entities around - the beast, jasmine, glory, the first.. interesting. Anyways, I'll now remove my fan geek hat and continue with my morning. :)

Freakin' A, dude!

Thus ends the best season of any show I've ever watched. Including Season 3 of Buffy.

Thus ends the crappiest season of Angel since the first - in an albeit satisfying way and they really pulled their fannies out of the fire with the whole few episodes w/jasmine and this episode - but it hardly makes up for the first 3/4s of the season or the second half of last season.

I am happy about the Connor thing, though. It seems like just the kind of sacrifice Angel would make. . . It hurts my heart in two ways to think about it.

As for W&H - interesting turn - I think next season might just be good (but let's cross our fingers that Cordelia won't come back and that Connor stays gone as well).

I am really looking forward to Angel's appearance on Buffy next week.
