Anyone have any spoilers or speculations for Angel? If anything the character family of Angel were more fractured than that of Buffy.

Secondary and Tertiary Characters:
-Gru leaving for parts unknown.
-Loren leaving for Las Vegas.

Central Characters:
-Wesley being exiled from the family.
-Cordy ascending to a a higher plane.
-Angel being put in a box and dropped into the sea (nice contrast to the fate of Cordy).

As it stands, it's just down to Gunn and Fred.

Pure Guess.

The two remaining members (for the life of me I forget their names, Gunn and the girl I think) wait for a little while and Angel and Cordy never show. They explore some, maybe get a few clues but can't do anything. THey contact Wes for help. With We's help (and by this time maybe Loren's as well) they get in touch with Cordy who descends to save Angel. But she has to sacrifice her ascebtion or some such to do so.

Though I don't have an attribution at the moment, Joss has been quoted on Sci-Fi Wire as saying that Cordelia will return.

Personally, I think that's part of her test...

The end of last season made me quite confused, and frankly, I DISLIKED it immensely because Joss Whedon broke what was once one of his cardinal rules: Never end a season on a cliffhanger. I know he did it because it was a special circumstance (he KNEW Angel was getting renewed due to contracts) - but it still left a sour taste to me.

I much prefer resolving the major issues, but introducing a new element as a cliffhanger. Like the Buffy season where she decided to quit being the slayer and left town on a bus. All major plot lines were resolved (wasn't that the "mayor turning into demon at graduation" season finale?), but a new plot twist gives the hook for next season.

But this silly "Who Shot JR"* type cliffhanger--ugh.

*I guess this would be "Who will save Angel?" 10-1 someone says something to Connor and he momentarily repents and retrieves Angel. Barf.

Nope, it was after Buffy had sent Angel to hell in order to shut down Athcathla who was going to swallow the world. The Mayor Demon Snake was the season after that, and (IIRC) did not add any new plot lines - from a storytelling point of view (rather than a fan point of view) that would have been a good place to end it. Pretty much everything was resolved.

My wife sent me a link with a bunch of them for both buffy and angel. It was one artical and discussed all of the one mentioned on the Buffy thread. I will see if I can't dig up a link.

What I've read:

The next season starts as usual -- three months later. As could be expected, Gunn and Fred have been rather confused all summer ("Uh, where is everybody?").

Somehow or other, Angel gets pulled out of the ocean (by Gunn & Fred and I think Connor; I'm not sure though).

Cordelia might appear in the first episode, but she won't be reunited with the crew for a couple-three episodes. I've no idea whether she'll still have powers.

Wesley's situation isn't going to resolve immediately. I got the impression that he's either being lured into Wolfram & Hart's employ, or (more likely IMO) he'll be pretending to be lured into said employ.

Lorne will be back; IIRC, Angel & co. will actually be going to Las Vegas to help him out. (My bet would be that wherever Lorne is working in Vegas will be blown up by the end of their visit.)

Oh, and Angel is still a Joss Whedon show, so the happy-go-lucky Gunn and Fred romance is certainly doomed, to heartache & pain, if not dissolution. :D

I also read that we will see Angelus this season.

(I'm hoping that Justine will get very dead sometime in this season. She was actually the main agent of chaos last season -- she conned Wes, kidnapped the baby, slit Wes's throat, told Connor that Angel killed Holtz, etc. She's a bigger problem than Lilah ever has been.)

PS: These are all if I recall correctly, and were vague rumors to begin with. So make sure you take 'em with plenty of salt.
