Another Creature Catalog query for Dragon? (Pt 2)

Since two of my suggestions were rejected, here are some replacements:

Gargouille (Dragon #248): Aquatic dragon that breaths water

Umbra (Dragon #61): Shadowy thing that can be only be damaged by other shadows.

No, the wraithworm isn't in Draconomicon.

How about dowhars (MC9)? March of the Penguins was a big hit...

I'd like to see them, but they were actually cut from the last Spelljammer article in the last "Campaign Classics" for Dragon this past January. Ostensibly it was for space, but still...

That said, I'd like to see the Insectare and Bionoid, both from that MC, also!

OK, it's finally time for me to weigh in. :) i decided to just look at creatures we've got in the CC, since there are plenty of "one-hit wonders" in there. so many, in fact, that it was hard to narrow down my choices! in the end, i just went with the ones that really jumped out at me as being interesting and useful. here they are:

Apodalypse
Ghuuna
Nawidnehr
Chagmat
Krolli

as far as runners-up, there were many. if some of you are still looking for creatures to nominate, feel free to pick from these, or any others in the CC (or other sources!):
air sentinel, alcor, alguduir, amitok, anuchu, colossus, darter, dhour, dragon horse, feral slasher, fire falcon, flitte, flolite, lightning golem, grim, hoar fox, jagre, leomarh, luposphinx, lybbarde, mihstu, murska, nic'epona, presence, quezzer, sashalus, screaming devilkin, scythetail, shatjan, skuz, slithermorph, steel shadow, thork, tyrannabyss, whiz-bang beetle, witherstench, and a number of others that i left unmentioned. :)

dhaga,

if you've got any ideas, post 'em up so we can wrap this up and get to the poll. :)

if you don't have any good ideas yet, myself and others have made "suggestions" that you could adopt if you like. :)

Okay, here's my suggestions, besides seconding the gray philosopher

Darklore: from Planescape's boxed set Hellbound, the Blood War, an amorphous blob composed of evil knowledge that sapped its way into the River Styx. It feeds on dark knowledge (int drain) and can bestow dark secrets or enable evil beings it knows the true name to teleport at will.

Cifal: A roughly humanoid shaped creature composed of thousands of flying insect swarms brought together into one being, from the Fiend Folio from 1st edition

Blood Spirit- The 2E supplement Shaman had an interesting take on spirits, which were not undead but rather creatures of belief and emotion. The blood spirit was a CN spirit that existed to stop the suffering caused by bullies and tyrants on the part of the oppressed. These spirits possessed bullies and got them to stop their tormenting by either getting them to kill their victims or let them go. Blood spirits are also fond of contacting those who help the underdogs and could grant lilmited protection spells to shamans. Probably would be an incorporeal outsider with a possession ability similiar to the ghost.

Dabus- the manitainers of Sigil who spoke with visual puzzles. Might make sense to expand their duties tp places elsewhere as well. They came from the Planescape boxed set monster supplement.

actually, we're just going to just go ahead and put the gray philosopher on the regular CC site. :)

if you want to pick another critter for the 5th, go right ahead.
