Another Creature Catalog query for Dragon? (Pt 2)

Since most of mine got shut down, what about the Firelich (Spelljammer MC I, IIRC), or the Juniper (Immortals boxed set for Original D&D)?
The Firelich is in Spelljammer Appendix II, but good choice :). It'll need some adaption to remove the phlogiston references, but I'd like to see a new version of that.

Wow! No one commented on mine. Are all of mine one-hit wonders? I'm pretty sure the Dragon Magazine ones are, but not to sure of the Monitor...
Actually, I did check them (I can't help it, I see an obscure creature and I have to check that I have it correctly indexed) and they all seemed to be one-hit wonders, including the Monitor.

And Sapromnemes [Fungal Ghosts] (Dragon 267) are awesome!!!!!!!
Yes, they are rather cool. I'd vote for those over some of my own suggestions. (Hey, is it going to be an open ended poll like the last one? Will I be able to vote for all of the options? )

yes, you can vote for all of the options, but that solves absolutely nothing since they would all cancel out. ;)

lucky you! :) my dumb ass is all too often up this late... but i'm fading fast and about to go to sleep. ;)

If anybody wants a 3E write up that might serve as a starting point for the gray philosopher version from the Mystara Monstrous Compendium, I did a version for it a while ago; I'll see if i can find it if anyone wants it.

For my own requests, I'll have to go back and check my old stuff. How long will we have for this?

I've got a few... but keep in mind that I also didn't get into D&D till 3e, so some of these may not be entirely one hit wonders. They haven't popped up in 3.x yet, but they might have appeared in something obscure in 1e, or elsewhere in 2e from the source I listed.

#1 Wastrels (PSMC) - life sucking, raven-like birds from the Waste
#2 Mortai (PSMC II) - the god-like 'faces in the clouds' entities of the Beastlands
#3 Gautiere (Planes of Conflict) - the deicide cursed remnants of the Tiere, bottled up within Minethys on Carceri
#4 Linqua (Planes of Conflict)
#5 Garmorm (Planescape MC III)

I'll second the last two since they were already mentioned. They're nice ones.

And since the Demarax was mentioned earlier, oddly enough I almost included an update of that critter in a submission I made recently. I didn't, but it was on a short list of critters I considered.

Very well...

Gargoyle, Archer: From Dragon #223. There is something endearing about a malicious stone cherub that shoots arrows at people when nobody is looking.

Golem, Nyraala: From Dragon #255, the nyraala golem is an illithid creation of flesh and psionically active mucous. I've been hoping to see it in 3E at some point, since you can never have too many tentacle monsters.

Oard: From CM6: Where Chaos Reigns. The oards are humanoids who are grown in vats and use very advanced technology. They're resistant to magic and mind-affecting effects and a good source for really weird loot that the PCs can kill themselves experimenting with.

Rohch: From Monstrous Compendium Appendix 11: Forgotten Realms. The rohch is an unspeakable (or at least unpronounceable) crossbreed between a beetle and a wolf. Creepy things.

Tunnelmouth Dweller: From Dragon #267. I think this one has some of that old school, Gygaxian spirit in that it's a monster that doesn't really make sense anywhere outside of a dungeon. Basically, it's got a huge mouth, which it keeps open, blocking the entire dungeon. Then it waits for something to walk in.

Just this one, I think. The Mortai originated in the 1st Edition Manual of the Planes, and in the 2nd Edition Monstrous Compendium Outer Planes Appendix (MC8).
