Another Disintegrate question

So, are we going with "raw energy" because "untyped" doesn't mean diddly?

As pointed out above, "untyped" is far more meaningful in game terms. "Raw" energy is equally meaningless in real terms- there is no such thing as "raw" energy- and more meaningless in game terms.

I have a feeling that you may be trying to apply physics to D&D? If that's the case, I have a word of advice: Be ready to modify the way one or the other works.

As was said slightly before me, Untyped is actually a meaningful game term and is used in the rules as a way of saying it stacks with everything/ it can't be stopped by resistance/ etc.

I will describe the effects on a failed save that doesn't dustinate the PC as a "painful force that attacks your whole body causing your skin to ashen." how's that?

Sounds like a valid description. Dadnu's analogy to it being a form of radiation may help for roleplaying the attack.
