Ok, so we have the EN World store for RPG stuff. I was thinking that maybe there is a pretty vast untapped market for other types of merchandise that EN World users would like to buy -- I'm thinking video/dvd, computer games, and non-RPG books.
First task would be to see if amazon.com still does its affiliate program. If not, see if there is another online store that does. Then, you'd want to set up something fairly automatic so lots of people could contribute links to lots of products in lots of categories. Have one or two volunteer "librarians" to kind of make sure stuff ends up in the right categories and that all items have their links working so as to generate funds for the site.
Let's consider just books, for example. In addition to tons of great sci-fi/fantasy fiction works, there are many interesting non-fiction books that make great resources for fantasy, sci fi, and modern RPGs. Reference books on gemstones; historical works on ancient warfare or guilds of the middle ages; books about various conspiracy theories; etc.
The non-fiction stuff could kind of be arranged by major chapters/sections of the core D&D books. The "classes" section might have a link to a book on historical druids, the Vikings, gladiators, etc. The section of the DMG about different terrains could have links to books about survival or travel or wildlife of mountains, desserts, arctic, etc.
I dunno -- maybe this is too huge of a project. But at least I think having an EN World store for DVD/Video and computer games makes a lot of sense if there's a site willing to partner up with us.
