Anti-Minion Tactics

Even better, if you're a star warlock, since you get a cumulative +1 to a roll on your next round for each curse victim that drops. As I understand it, there is a feat that gives that ability an extra +1. But would that be an extra, flat, +1 or an extra +1 per victim?

So, with Improved (Star Pact boon) if three curse victims fall during a round, do you get a +4 bonus, or a +6 bonus on the following round.

You're supposed to mop the floors with the minions.

If minion stomping gets too easy, add more minions!
I wholeheartedly agree with this!!! You can never have too many minions.

The WHOLE POINT is that you can wipe them out easily. I'm sure there will be loads more great combos like this - but that's a GOOD thing.

I don't think it is a problem. A strong tactic - sure, but you invested money in the rod (I don't have the books yet, but I guess its around 500gp für a +1? - not much at paragon+, but you also wield this measly +1 wand, when you try to hit the real enemies with your standard action), need a minor action to draw it, it uses one of your hands (your main one?), needs a feat (allthough you may have taken that anyway) and uses your move action and your minor action.

A stormwarden gets to kill 3 (or is it 2, not sure on stacking) each round without using any actions on them.

Please keep in mind that I only have my KotS and my Lurking Reader Power, so I may be completely wrong.

PS: Anyone pointing out spelling/grammar mistakes should fear my :close: Foreign Language interrupt!

Keep in mind you can only issue a Warlock's Curse once per round - so each round, as a minor action, you can nuke 2 minions. This doesn't seem too much worse than the various auras floating around, or cleave, or a number of other abilities. Easy minion-killing, certainly, but it requires a bit of investment to make it work.

That seems pretty darn effective - I was thinking there'd be a bunch of powers with 'Effect: Take some damage at the start of your turn' that'd win out, but that sounds... a little awesome for minion cleanup.

A little too awesome imo. It makes a Rod of Reaving pretty much required equipment for any warlock. It also frees up other classes from having to deal with minions since they know the minions will die.

2 minions per round, as a minor action for a feat and a magic item?
It is powerful but it also requires you to have minions as the closest targets. Making positioning and minion identification are important factors.

It seems workable. The one curse per round is an important limitation.

From looking through some of the material, a number of minions look the same as their higher level counterparts, so picking the right opponents to curse (or cleave or whatever) is a less than exact science.

Well, I wouldn't include the feat cost on there - is there any warlock who shouldn't take a feat that makes their curse hit two people instead of 1? That sounds like a total gimme.
