Any alternative to RPGNOW?

Just browsing a lot of online stores, I notice a lot of them don't really let you use Paypal to pay. A lot redirect you to the paypal debit card and stuff, but really if I felt comfortable using a card with my name on the internet I wouldn't use pay pal. So do you know of any other site that has a semi-decent selection -specially of pdfs- and lets you pay with pay pal?

Not really, and many that did exist have since disappeared. RPGNow/DrivethruRPG is the 800 lbs. gorilla in the RPG PDF market. I think d20pfsrd.com online store allows Pay Pal checkout, though their market share is very small. I know many RPG publishers that sell in multiple marketplaces include both of those mentioned so far and also through the Paizo Store (which does not accept Pay Pal for many reasons), and 80%+ of their sales come from RPGNow/DrivethruRPG.

Just curious, is there a reason why you do not want to use RPGNow?

That is a good question. Currently the majority and best selection of RPG PDF products are found on RPGNow/DrivethruRPG. To a consumer there is no better option. If it has something to do with the recent issue regarding not reacting fast enough to pull socalled provocative publications (Tower of Rapists) - I think they did the right thing, by not pulling it immediately. I'm personally against the arbitrary banning of books from any sales platform. Who wants the "moral majority" to successfully dictate anything.

I don't have a Paypal credit card, yet all the purchases I make through RPGNow/DrivethruRPG are made with standard Paypal payments on their payment page. It never asks me for a credit card, so why is it asking that of you?

Cause I'm silly like that? um oh, sorry this thread was a waste of space... nevermind.

There are 4 major PDF online stores, and several minor ones. I'm only listing ones that have multiple publishers.
Major:
  • DrivethruRPG aka RPGNow AKA DNDClassics (all are the same store with the same software - just different presentations.
  • Warehouse 23/E23 - SJGames.com
  • Indie Press Revolution www.indiepressrevolution.com
  • Paizo's Webstore

Minor ones
  • Precis Intermedia Games (formerly Politically Incorrect Games)
