Any interest in a Paranoia PbP?? (non d20) (filled)

I remember Paranoia from the old days. Only played it a few times back then and never since. Reading the threads you linked from the other board brought back funny memories. I'm interested in playing, if you are still looking for more players. Is the game going to use the old edition rules or the newer ones published by Mongoose? In either case, I would need a pregen character.

Newer rules, I have never been able to track down the first or second edition of the game. I played a lot in college, but friends had the books so I never needed to pick them up; stupid me.

That's six everyone. Any preference as to which position you want? Team leader, loyalty officieer, happiness officier, hygene officier, equipment guide, comminication and recodering officier.

Do you want a less serious one shot (more in the way of classic with a bit of zap. if you know the terms) or more lserious which would be straight mixed with classic

Straight is first edition. It is a totally serious game where corruption and true paranoia runs rampant.

Classic is more second edition. Less serious but things still get done. It is more like the traditional one shots

Zap is like toon. People just sort of kill each other, puns run rambant and everyone runs out of clones in the first hour of game play.

Also, do we want secret societies? It complicates the game more and they aren't as useful in a one shot. But in acampaign they can really be effective.

I can run this a variety of ways. Frankly, I'm just happy running the game since my local groups really are not suited for this game.

I'd like to go with Loyalty Officer...and agree with fett that a one shot may be the best way to start things out. Kind of take a middle ground between killing commie traitors and actual somewhat close to serious play.

no, it is not my first post in this forum. I've played in PbP games before on EnWorld, I'm currently in a Babylon 5 game actually.

Really? I must be going blind at an early age... :D Anyhow it's wonderful to see you in this forum also. :)

Anyhow, I’ll let you guys get to the real business at hand. :) Have fun! :D
